Not only must it be difficult for a competitor to reinvent the product,

but also it must be entirely comfortable for a customer to adopt it A product may appear easy to imitate,

but the precise details of how it is put together may be more opaque. Such

key intellectual ingredients are a barrier to entry, along with patents.

intrinsic to the investment pitch of any entrepreneur

Meat Technology Centre:Teagasc as host applicant, and its co-applicants; University College Cork incorporating the Tyndall National Institute (UCC-Tyn), Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF), along with the beef and sheep industry partners e.g. Dawn Meats, Kepak, ABP et al, are in contract negotiation mode and hope to develop very shortly an international technology centre of excellence in beef and sheep meat processing.

CeADAR:DIT School of Computing and specifically the Applied Intelligence Research Centre are members of the National Centre for Applied Data Analytics Research, which is tri-located at UCC, UCD, and DIT, funded by Enterprise Ireland.
