Matthew 20:21“Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”
Our understanding of “greatness”
• Is influenced by society & our sinful nature
• Skews our understanding of marriage
• Even seaps into many churches
Matthew 20:23…but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”
Proverbs 16:5“The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.”
1 John 2:16The cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world.
