We helped set up and cleanup for this event, while our club made some donations that went towards the Lupus programs. There were recognitions for Lupus survivors with some activities that included electric candle lights and balloons. The survivors themselves told their own stories while everyone enjoyed the get-together at West Flamingo Park.

The Colors of Lupus Mission is: “Colors of Lupus Nevada is the first organization of its kind in Nevada. We’re devoted to improving the quality of life for Lupus sufferers, by providing urgently needed services to patients, and to raising awareness of the disease among medical professionals and the general public.

Centennial Key Club was awarded this trophy and plaque on May 28th by CMNH (Children's Miracle Network Hospitals). The trophy is a traveling trophy that can be won each year by a different school by raising more money for CMNH. The plaque will stay in their school forever! This was the first year in their school forever! This was the first year for this competition, and several of our clubs in 28W competed. Centennial was able toraise, in only two short months, $667.53! Jason Williams, who coordinates youth projects with CMNH that Key Clubbers can participate in, is pictured posing with the kids. When the school year comes to an end, the end of year banquet occurs. The banquet was a beautiful occasion with delicious food and laughs; I give big hugs and thanks to committee. As everyone talked of leaving, making memories, and knowing they made an impact on the world, a realization hit me that I too have done those things. During the school year, I have dedicated myself to being involved in Key Club. I attended most events, assisted with anything I could, and encouraged others to join. Looking back on the year, Key Club has shaped me to be a better person. It is not that I wasn’t a better person before; it is just that I shaped me to be a better person. It is not that I wasn’t a better person before; it is just that I have grown to be who I am now. Saying that may be redundant, but there is a difference. I seemyself displaying the core values, and I am just amazed of who I have become.

At the banquet, I was honored with being chosen member of the year along with mypeer Jared Lewis. My eyes lit up and my heart raced when my name was announced because I wasn’t expecting it. I was aware of all that I have done, but I didn’t know I would be recognized for it. Knowing that I was capable of receiving this honor makes me want to do even more. Even though the year is done, it doesn’t mean my service will stop here. I look forward to the future though the year is done, it doesn’t mean my service will stop here. I look forward to the future events and to the next school year.

NORTHWEST KEY CLUB MEMBERS GATHERED TO CELEBRATEOLD AND NEW BOARD -- A SAD AND HAPPY MOMENT!

Durango was located at the Shaved Ice Station where we provided cold snacks for the runners. We cheered on the participants and participated in the raffles. Our Key Club helped clean up afterwards and the money went towards the Josh Stevens Foundation.
