With Regional Training Conference and Fall Rally South preparation, October had been quite an eventful month for West CTA key clubbers. Members were not only able to complete a an exceptional amount of service hours, but also were given the opportunity to raise moneyfor the club. West CTA Key Club partnered with World’s Finest Chocolates sold over forty boxes fundraising about $600 for the club! Advancing onto service progress, West CTA Key Club volunteered at the annual Fall Festival hosted by Givens Elementary. At the Light the Night Walk, several families and volunteers gathered to celebrate and help find a cure for cancer. From patients to survivors, smiles were seen all around as the the sun set and the lights were lit. From Zumba, inspiring speeches, Hula-hoop contests, and live music, the event was put together beautifully. Everything from the people to the array of food booths available added to the experience. Volunteers helped register families, sell merchandise, guide people along the walk, helped register families, sell merchandise, guide people along the walk, and helped clean up after the event was over. Near the Container Park and Fremont Street, the venue was in a pleasant area and truly added to the “Light the Night” experience. In just this one event, several thousands of dollars were contributed finding the cure to cancer. I hope that more key-clubbers can attend this event next year as it truly is a wonderful event!

“It was a good experience throughout the night because we got to see the walkers participate and then the lighting of the lanterns was a nice touch at night”We helped out with the festival with various activities. There were many mini games and families came out with their kids, it was a very homely type of volunteer work. We aided in providing a safe area to help the kids play around and had a great time area to help the kids play around and had a great time overall.

This event was a great experience for us at volunteers. It allowed us to see the seriousness of the disease and be mature. However, the event allowed us to still have a great time with friends and gave us an opportunity to make friends from other schools! Seeing the smiles ofwalkers brightened my day. We as volunteers have a big impact on the people. Bringing a smile on your own face, could make someone's day. So smiling and cheering people on made me so happy because it made other people happy. Especially because the event was for such a good cause. I can't wait until next year to volunteer again!was for such a good cause. I can't wait until next year to volunteer again!

One of my favorite events this year and for the month of November was the Relay for Life Kickoff! In which, several clubs from across our county gathered to raise funds and sign up for the event. Each club had sold various snacks and some even provided games for entertainment. As everyone settled down in their booths and tables, we eventually gathered in the center of the room to hear a heart-touching story of how Spring Valley’s Relay for Life came to be after a student had unfortunately passed from his reoccurring cancer. To help support his vision of the future and the future of from his reoccurring cancer. To help support his vision of the future and the future of other cancer patients, I highly suggest that more people will join this cause. As the night progressed, everyone played games, met new people, laughed a lot, and made new memories. As a fellow key-clubber, I hope to see all of you at Relay and next year’s kickoff!”\
