Guest Policy A Member introducing a Guest to the Club must sign in at Member Services prior to the use of the facilities. Guest sign-ins are not required for dining. The facilities of the Club are for the use and enjoyment of its Members. A “Non-Member spouse” & children are subject to the same restrictions as other Guests. Guest Fees: $13.00/person. Maximum 2 visits per month Athletic Guest Policy Members will not be restricted to the number of individual Guests they bring to the Club. The same guest may visit the Club up to twice per month to a maximum of 10 visits per year. Members are required to be with their Guests throughout their participation at the Club. Members entertaining guests from out-of-town, i.e. individuals who have their principal residence more than 100 kilometers from the Club, may contact Membership for a weekly guest pass. Club & Activity Events Cancellations and changes to reservations for a Club or an Activity event can be made up to 48 hours prior to the event. The full price of the event will be charged for the appropriate number of reservations when cancellations are received less than 48 hours before the scheduled event. Cell Phones & Mobile Devices Speaking on Cell Phones or other Mobile Devices is not permitted in the Dining Room, Creekside Bistro, Waterside Lounge, Upper Deck or Peacock Alley. The use of Cell Phones and Mobile Devices are not permitted in the Locker Rooms, Fitness Centre, Junior Room, Swimming Pool Change Rooms and Pool area. Members and Guests are asked to use cell phones and mobile devices discretely while on Club property. Court Attire Rules of dress will be WHITE CLOTHING ONLY (including warm-up wear), with the exception of 10% colour trim and accents. Shoes are exempt from the white clothing rule. Members are not permitted to remove their shirts while on the courts.

Sign your children up for these programs online at oakvilleclub.com, Sports Bookings, Programs/Events, Junior Programs. A minimum of 8 kids are required for all programs. Member children are welcome to invite non-Member guests to any child program or event. Crack Pot Studios Afternoon Age: 4 - 10 years Date: Sunday, October 20 Time: 1:30 - 3:00 pm Cost: $25 The children will paint a bisque-fired piece with under glaze paints. Experienced teachers provide instruction of basic painting and design techniques. Painted pieces are clear glazed and fired at Crack Pot Studio. Finished work is fully functional.

Gingerbread House Challenge Age: 4 + years Date: Sunday, November 24 Time: 1:00 - 3:00 pm Cost: $25 (hot chocolate will be served) Children will decorate their very own tasty masterpiece. All the tools will be provided – Gingerbread house, icing, candies and treats. They just need to bring their own imagination, creativity and holiday spirit. Want a special advantage? Not only does it teach ways to channel both negative and positive energy, it allows the child – regardless of their individual physical abilities – to develop greater strength of both mind and body.

In The Mix now offers its own unique ITM Kids’ Yoga, run by a certified Kids’ Yoga instructor, which

intertwines the foundation of yoga with stories, music and props. It’s a lot of fun and very creative, but we place great emphasis on health awareness, self-confidence, compassion and tolerance for others. We also help children find ways to relax through techniques involving understanding their own breathe and developing a better awareness of their bodies. Child MindingChild Minding Rates: $9.00 per child, per hour

Billed to Member’s account. Guests of Members are welcome, and they are the responsibility of the Member on site. Children are billed for 1 hour minimum, then 15 minute increments.

Ratios & Age Requirements The Oakville Club staff are happy to accept kids of all ages, but children aged newborn to 1.5 years must be pre-confirmed in order to maintain a safe ratio of staff to children. Our ratio is 1:10 if children are all 5 and older. If there is a child 4 or under, the ratio is 1:5. If we have a baby/infant, the ratio is 1:3 max.

Policies

- Members must stay on-premises while their child/children are in the Junior Room. - Parents must sign their children in/out of the Junior Room when it’s supervised. - Children are expected to tidy up after themselves, or with their parent’s help. When supervised it will be the responsibility of the staff. - Child minding staff are not permitted to change diapers. If the child is not potty trained, the Member will be contacted to come tend to their child. - The Junior Room is a nut free space, but other snacks are permitted. Parents may also order food from the Bistro for their Children.

Chef Julian has been delighting Members for years with yummy comfort food, as well as elegant and creative dinners. He’s shared an Oakville Club classic recipe - Tuesday’s Chicken Curry Soup! Oakville Club Chicken Curry Soup 2 Tbsp Butter 1 Small Onion, Chopped 3 Celery Stalks, Chopped 1 Heaping Tbsp Curry Powder 1 Tbsp Cumin Powder 1 Tsp Cinnamon 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar 1 Tsp Ginger 1 Clove Garlic, Minced 1 Bay Leaf 2 Cups Chicken Broth 1 Can Coconut Milk 1 - 2 Cooked Chicken Breasts, shredded 1 - 1.5 Cups Cooked Basmati Rice Water (as needed) Directions 1) Heat large pot with butter, sweat the onion,

celery, curry, cumin, cinnamon & brown sugar for approximately 5 minutes

2) Add ginger, garlic, bay leaf. Allow to cook for 2-3 minutes

3) Add chicken broth & coconut milk 4) Simmer above for approximately 25 minutes.

Puree and strain back into a large pot. 5) Add cooked rice & chicken. Add water as needed

for a silky, smooth consistency. Remove from heat and serve with warm naan.

Our Head Badminton Professional, Stu Arthur, has put together a new and exciting program for the Fall 2019 season. It offers an option of recreational and competitive streams. The NEW Recreational, Multi-activity Programs will involve other activities (eg. Ping-pong, soccer, basketball) as a fitness component and to help improve general athletic skills, but the main focus will be learning Badminton technique and basic strategies. Juniors will love this fast paced action filled hour of Badminton and different sports every week! Juniors will learn the basics of another sport while learning all the Badminton fundamentals! Bronze Age/Level: 3 - 5 years Session: September 26 - December 12 Day: Thursdays Time: 3:30 - 4:30 pm Cost: $264 (12 wks)

Silver Age/Level: 6 - 9 years Session: September 26 - December 12 Day: Thursdays Time: 4:30 - 5:30 pm Cost: $264 (12 wks) Gold Age/Level: 10 - 12 years Session: September 26 - December 12 Day: Thursdays Time: 5:30 - 6:30 pm Cost: $264 (12 wks) NEW! Stu will prepare them for this through advanced drills and teaching advanced tactics for singles and doubles. There will also be a strong fitness component in the Fitness Centre. Oakville Team Our competitive Juniors will be challenged with advanced drills, learning advanced tactics, advanced singles/doubles strategies, with a strong focus on enhanced fitness programs that will be implemented in the Fitness Center. Adult Programs

All programs require a minimum of 6 participants to run. League Clinic This program is great for all league players that want to improve their Doubles game. We will focus on court positioning; proper doubles shots as well as doubles strategy for League play. Session: September 23 - October 14 Day: Mondays Time: 5:30 - 6:30 pm Cost: $140 (4 wks)

Ladies Hit & Run Lessons This is a great way to learn new shots and practice doubles strategy. Session: October 16 - November 6 Day: Wednesdays Time: 2:30 - 3:30 pm Cost: $140 (4 wks)

Badminton House Leagues There are 4 evening house league options for Members. All leagues are open to men and ladies. They are all a ladder format whereby each week players have an opportunity to move up or down the ladder. Monday and Thursday: 6:30 - 8:30 pm Tuesday: 6:00 - 7:30 pm Wednesday (Competitive League): 6:30 - 8:30 pm Format and Rules Stu will administer all the leagues, including formats, player rankings, weekly schedules and score updates. Players will be responsible for looking for subs from the posted sub lists. If no sub can be found from the list players may contact Stu for an appropriate sub. There will be 2 start times for each league: 6:30pm and 7:30pm. Every attempt will be made to switch the start time each week to make it fair for all players. Tuesday start times: 6:00pm and 7:00pm. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Leagues will be limited to 40 players. Wednesday competitive league limited to 32 players. Eligibility for this league will be determined by Stu. Players should mark a preference for a league when they sign up. Members may sign up for one league to play full time and can be on the sub list for all 4 leagues. All signups will be open online starting September 3 at 9:00 am. Members must sign themselves up. Five groups of 4 players will be assigned to each start time and will play 2 games to 21 points with each player in their group. The player with the most points in the group will move up to the higher group the following week, the player with the least points will move down a group. The 2nd and 3rd players will remain in the same group the following week. In the event of a tie in points the player with the higher ranking will move up or stay the same (eg. 3rd and 4th are tied, 4th moves to the lower group and 3rd stays) and the same goes for a 3 way or 4 way tie.

Special Badminton Events

The 48 Hour Cancellation Policy will be in effect for all events. Cancel your reservation 48 hours in advance to avoid charges. Game On! Competitive Stream Program

This program requires a minimum participation in

three sessions per week. The twice-weekly group

sessions are mandatory. The commitment will enable

juniors to advance their skills in order to be

competitive in Squash Ontario events across the

GTA. Currently TOC has 7 provincially ranked

Juniors.

Players in the Competitive Junior Program can participate in the Junior Round Robin, a parent-volunteer run program. This program is designed to get the kids together for friendly games, which would help them improve but also for fun. No pressure for results. Just play. 5) Squash Ontario Junior Tournaments

Juniors in the Competitive program are encouraged

to compete against other juniors from other clubs!

Squash Ontario Rules Clinic With two “warriors” on a court attempting to chase a little black ball, its’ inevitable players will get in each other’s way. The goal is to have the juniors playing mini-games with basic tactical awareness. This has quickly become our new 4th established racquet sport, with many playing options available. After a successful weekly round robin on tennis court 5 in the summer we will carry on with outdoor play for as long as possible in the fall. The indoor season is played on the badminton courts. We also have a certified Pickleball instructor. Aidan will be available for lessons and introductions to the game. Look out for further information posted at the club about group lessons.

Pickleball House Leagues Competitive League This is for players with playing experience who are looking for higher level games. Players will ranked at the beginning of the league and play in a ladder format. Fall Session: Tuesdays, October 1 - December 10 Time: 7:30 - 9:00 pm Cost: $20 Recreational League This is for players who are newer to the game or for any Member who has played before and wants to enjoy a social game on a Friday night.
