THE MONUMENTS MEN: THE MONUMENTS, FINE ARTS, AND ARCHIVES DIVISION
GatorMUN XIII
Letter
from
the
Director
Crisis Coordinator - Artem Polikov
TO: MONUMENTS, FINE ARTS, AND ARCHITECTURE DIVISION
FROM: GEORGE LESLIE STOUT
SUBJECT: BRIEFING OF THE MFAA DIVISION
Welcome Gentlemen to the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Architecture Division of the Allied
Forces! Within the next year, you will be on the most extraordinary mission to protect the
work of centuries. We are the only people, who stand between centuries worth of art and its
destruction. The goal of this division is to preserve the numerous works of art, which are
housed in Europe.
Now I understand that I am asking you to stand in the way of unfriendly fire at times.
We will be risking our safety and wellbeing to preserve the culture of generations. I know not
when this war will end, but people will need these works of art. These works of art will be the
salve on their war-torn hearts.
If you choose to accept this invitation into this specialized division, you will be given
one month before you must report for training at CONFIDENTIAL. I ask that any item,
which you wish to bring with you into combat, you bring with you to basic training.
Remember you will only be able to take a rucksack with you into the field. Supplies are
scarce here, and the primary mission of our division is to recover works of art. Any
restoration will be done by others.
Upon arrival, you will enter basic training, which will be helpful to you once we land
in LALALALA. After your third week of basic training, approximately two weeks from
departure, we will meet as a division to discuss the basics and logistics of our mission. I hope
that this letter finds you in good health and hope to see you soon.
All the Best,
George L Stout

To the Chief of the Army High Command for the Military Administration in Occupied
France.
In supplement to the order of the Führer transmitted at the time to Reichsleiter Rosenberg to
search lodges, libraries and archives in the occupied territories of west for material valuable
to Germany, and to safeguard the latter for the Gestapo, the Führer has decided:
The ownership status before the war in France, prior to the declaration of war on 1 September
1939, shall be the criterion.
Ownership transfers to the French state or similar transfers completed after this date are
irrelevant and legally invalid (for example, Polish and Slovak libraries in Paris, possessions
of the Palais Rothschild or other ownerless Jewish possessions). Reservations regarding
search, seizure and transportation to Germany on the basis of the above reasons will not be
recognized.
Reichsleiter Rosenberg and/or his deputy Reichshauptstellenleiter Elbert has received clear
instructions from the Führer personally governing the right of seizure; he is entitled to
transport to Germany cultural goods which appear valuable to him and to safeguard them
there. The Führer had reserved for himself the decision as to their use.
It is requested that the services in question be informed correspondingly. Signed: KEITEL for
information:
