The bride's parents are Rafael and Graciela Rangel of Rock Island. The groom's parents are Ramiro and Feliz Hernandez of Garwood. A reception followed at the El Campo K.C. Hall. Providing music at the reception, where the bride and her father had the first dance, were Los Temebles along with mariachis to enhance the occasion. The grand march was led by Ivan Amador. Limousine service was provided to the bride and groom as a gift from Adriana Amador. After a honeymoon in the Bahamas, the couple now reside in Austin. Study Club raises $ 10,000+ for Library The Eagle Lake Study Club, due to the fantastic community participation, was able to raise over $10,000 for the Eula and David Wintermann Library at this year's Annual Auction. This year's auctioneer was, once again, Joe Herbert McCreary, assisted by his wife, Candy. Spotters were Louis Schor- lemmer, Bill Kell, Robby Cook and J.W. Shavers. Presenting the items to the audi- ence were Amy and Cathy Fearing, Theresa and Amanda Henry and Chris McCreary. The City of Bastrop has been awarded $300,000 as a result of the monetary assistance to benefit low income Texans. State Representative Robert L. Cook (D-Eagle Lake) said, "The aid of the TDHCA to the community of Bas- trop is greatly appreciated. It is pro- viding the area with a chance to im- prove the quality of life for families in great need of an affordable means of housing." •The Texas Department of Trans- portation (TxDOT) awarded Garey Construction Company Inc. of Austin a contract in Wharton County to widen FM 1162 and place a seal coat on the roadway. The length of the project will ex- tend from 9.8 kilometers east of FM 653 to 6.1 kilometers west of the Matagorda County line. Glen Dvorak, area engineer, will supervise the project which will cost approximately $1,600,000.00 State Representative Robert L. Cook (D-Eagle Lake) said Wharton County is priv ileged to receive mone- tary help for the improvements. "We are fortunate that the Department of Transportation has been willing to take part in the improvements to FM Road 1162.1 wholeheartedly support the economic development efforts of Wharton County as they relate to the improvements and the development of their transportation systems." •The TDHCA announced that the City of Elgin has been awarded a grant in the amount of $500,000 for infra- structure improvements in support of new affordable housing. The pro- posed infrastructure improvements will support the construction of a new 72-unit single family subdivision. The funds for this award are made available through the Community Development Block Grant Program administered at the federal level by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This program is administered for the state of Texas by the TDHCA through the Texas Community Devel- opment Program. State Representative Cook said, "The City of Elgin is privileged to re- ceive monetary support to make af- fordable housing available. The aid of the TDHCA to the community is greatly appreciated." State Representative Robert L. Cook (D-Eagle Lake) said, "The aid of the TDHCA to the community of Bas- trop is greatly appreciated. It is pro- viding the area with a chance to im- prove the quality of life for families in great need of an affordable means of housing."

•The Texas Department of Trans- portation (TxDOT) awarded Garey Construction Company Inc. of Austin a contract in Wharton County to widen FM 1162 and place a seal coat on the roadway.

The length of the project will ex- tend from 9.8 kilometers east of FM 653 to 6.1 kilometers west of the Matagorda County line.

Glen Dvorak, area engineer, will supervise the project which will cost approximately $1,600,000.00

are fortunate that the Department of Transportation has been willing to take part in the improvements to FM Road 1162.1 wholeheartedly support the economic development efforts of Wharton County as they relate to the improvements and the development of their transportation systems."

•The TDHCA announced that the City of Elgin has been awarded a grant in the amount of $500,000 for infra- structure improvements in support of new affordable housing. The pro- posed infrastructure improvements will support the construction of a new 72-unit single family subdivision.

The funds for this award are made available through the Community Development Block Grant Program administered at the federal level by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

This program is administered for the state of Texas by the TDHCA through the Texas Community Devel- opment Program.
