Dear Canoeing Community,
Thank you for attending the Team Manager’s Meeting on 14 January 2020. We would like to extend
a warm welcome to participants from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Spain, Taipei, and Thailand.
We have over 90 SUP participants joining the Marathon, thanks to everyone for their support! In this
bulletin, you can find the updated information, including race schedule and more.

1. Registration
1.1 No registration is required on event day.
1.2 Competitors shall be at the start at the time specified in the race schedule. The start shall be
given without reference to any absentees.
1.3 No alterations of entries allowed.
1.4 No entry fee will be refunded for any withdrawn entry.
1.5 Team Managers may collect the refreshments (Marigold HL Milk & Sunshine bread) at the
NSA Office after 8:00AM. To prevent wastage of food, kindly inform the staff of the quantity
you require. Refreshments are while stocks last.

4. Equipment & Specifications
4.1 All boats, excluding SUPs, must have a RFID boat tag vertically placed at the bow, and a boat
number plate vertically placed at the stern of the deck.
4.2 All SUPs must have a RFID boat tag, and a boat number plate vertically placed on the bow of
the board.
4.3 The competition organiser reserves the right to conduct random inspection on any
touring/racing kayak/canoe.
5. Boat Rental Collection
5.1 Boat rental collection will be held on 18 January 2020, 7:00AM – 2:00PM, and 19 January
2020, 7:00AM – 2:00PM.
5.2 All boats must be returned at 6:00PM on 19 January 2020.
5.3 Please ensure payment is made upon collection of boats.

5.4 Recreational Closed-Deck Kayaks are used for the Uniformed Group and ActiveSG races.
Please proceed to Boat Rental Booth at Water Sports Centre for the collection of boats,
equipment, PFDs and Paddles.
5.5 Boat Plate Holders are available at Boat Rental Booth (WSC/KWSC).
5.6 PFDs are available at Boat Rental Booth (WSC/KWSC), for a rental fee of $5.

6. Boat Transportation
For participants who made arrangements for boat transportation, please refer to the following
schedule:

Please note that equipment is stored at owners’ risk. The competition organiser is not responsible for
any loss or damage of equipment. All boats must be stored at the designated area as guided at site.

8. Team Manager
The Team Managers’ Meeting was held on 14 January 2020 (Tuesday), 7:00PM, at SportSG

9. Race Pack Collection
For those who were unable to attend the Team Manager’s Meeting, kindly collect your race pack as
follows:

10. Finish
10.1 The finishing line will be at the LEFTMOST COLUMN of the Tanjong Rhu Pedestrian Footbridge near the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

10.2 Competitors are deemed to have completed the race when the bow of the boat passes the finish line with the crew in the boat, after completing the necessary number of rounds.
10.3 If two or more boats reach the finishing line at the same time, they will get the same finishing positions. Subsequent finishing positions will be adjusted accordingly.
11. Medals & Victory Ceremony
11.1 All participants will receive a finisher medal upon completion of their race.
11.2 Team Managers are to collect the finisher medals at the Registration Booth.
11.3 Individual medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position of each category, and top 6 positions in the U12 and U14 categories.
11.4 The winner or a representative from the winning team must be present at the victory ceremony when the medals are presented.
11.5 The victory ceremony will be held on 19 January 2020, at 12:15PM for the morning races and 6:00PM for the afternoon races.
12. Results

13. Protest and Appeal
13.1 A protest for infringement during the race must be lodged by only the Team Manager or
authorised representative as stated in the entry form of the Team, not later than 20 minutes
after the release of the results. The results release time will be reflected on the results sheet.
13.2 An appeal against the decision of the Competition Committee made during a competition must
be addressed to the Appeal Committee not later than 20 minutes after the team leader has
been informed on the decision against his/her competitor or team.
13.3 All protests or appeals shall be made in writing and be accompanied by a fee of S$100.00
each. The fee will be refunded if the protest or appeal is upheld.
13.4 The decision made by the Appeal Committee is final.

14. Bad Weather
14.1 In the event of Cat 1, please proceed to the nearest shelter at Nicoll Highway MRT or Water
Sports Centre.
14.2 The Organisers reserve the right to delay the commencement of the Marathon in the event of
inclement weather. A public announcement will be made through the PA system and the team
manager will be informed if the race is delayed or cancelled.
15. End of Event
15.1 At the end of the Marathon, please return the boat number plates and boat plate holders at
the Boat Rental Booth (WSC/KWSC).
Damaged / Un-returned boat plate = surcharge of $20.

15.2 Kindly dispose of the RFID tag properly in the trash bins provided at the race site.
15.3 Trash bags are available at the Registration Booth.
