Transcript of Talent Acquisition Programme
We live in remarkable changing times, today, if you’re in business you’re in the IT business and right now EVERY business is living or dying by its tech capability. Technology is changing at a rapid pace and it is changing the way all business operate, everything that previously worked needs questioning.
Forward thinking companies are evolving, embracing new technology to avoid the risks of being side-swiped by a disruptive new player or a well known competitor who got in first.
They have worked out that IT isn’t a function of their business; it is VITAL to their business.
There’s nothing revolutionary in that idea, we all know technology is pervasive, but embracing technology alone isn’t what will make the vast majority of companies succeed in the future. Having first class technology is essential in todays business environment but its not only about having the right technology, the companies that
will really succeed need to have the right people. People that will implement and use this technology to transform businesses to give a competitive advantage.
And that is the real problem businesses face. Hiring the right people is hard, hiring the right IT people is even harder. The pool of the right technical talent is small and getting smaller, recruiting great technical people is really hard and only going to get harder, there’s real competition to hire them and they are a very scarce resource.
That’s where we come in, over the last 15 years we’ve worked in partnership with our clients to develop a unique framework to Identify, Engage, Recruit and Retain the right technical people, at the right time to help our clients succeed.

Engage
Identify
needs to be successful, that your business recruits for repeatedly and roles that are hard to fill.
Leverage technology to help identifying the right people with the right skills and experience for your business. Use these tools to build Talent pools of prospective employees with the right technical fit but also the right cultural and performance fit for your business.
Engage
Once we’ve identified the right prospective candidates, with the right skills and experience for your company we get to know them. We don’t treat a talent pool as a database, we consider them a community.
We respect their time, personalise our messages, listen to understand what is relevant to them, stay visible and accessible so that we are top of mind for when the time is right for their next move.
Your company might not be right for them today, they might not be right for you but the prospective employee doesn’t know what your company is planning in 6 months time, by working in partnership with you, we do.

Finding the right technical people is hard. In a recent survey CEO’s at 73% of companies with fewer than 1,000 employees, and 88% at larger companies claim that an IT talent shortage in one or more areas is one of the major challenges facing their businesses.*
If we accept that business has changed, we accept that there is a real shortage of technical talent and that competition for that talent has never been greater, the way in which we recruit these people must also change.
This is why we developed the Talent Acquisition Programme (TAP)
Identify
Don’t wait until you have a vacancy, hiring great people is the key to having a great business and leaving hiring decisions until the last minute doesn’t make sense.
We work with you to identify in advance the key people profiles, skills and competencies that your business

Recruit
When the time is right, our role is to make sure you have a selection of the best talent for each and every vacancy.
We work in partnership with both our clients and candidates and are focused on finding the right matches for both.
Our focus is on accessing talent that isn’t readily available in the market and we have a unique framework to do this. There are of course times when advertising and database search is appropriate, we have access to all of the UK’s premium channels.
Our role is to make sure the candidate arrives at an interview , fully prepared and open to hearing about our clients opportunities.
Retain
We work hard to build close relationships with both our clients and candidates. The process doesn’t stop the day we make a placement, we’re in this business for the long term.
Once you have found the right person, the key is keeping them and we work closely with you to make that happen.
This process starts early, and we believe that by listening to and understanding the wants and needs of both our clients and candidates we have developed a proven strategy that works which involves identifying the right people in the first instance and then a regular programme of contact.
We understand why people move jobs and we understand the early triggers that identify this. By working in long-term partnership we can head these issues off.

Active v Passive Candidates
If we look at the UK workplace today around 25% of people are actively looking for work, we call them “active candidates”. They’re sending out their CV and applying for jobs. This is who most recruiters and direct hiring campaigns target.

Active - Thinker - Explorer - Super Passive

That leaves around 75% of working professionals who are considered to be passive candidates, but don’t let the title fool you. In reality a large proportion of these, typically 60% are open to hearing about new job opportunities. We make these people our focus, we’ve
found that the best people often are not actively looking to move jobs and they usually make a better fit for our clients.

Nick Hoare – Head of IT for Affinity Sutton, I manage the IT support and Infrastructure environments for the business and its 1500 users.
What do you like most about working with Remit Resources?
They are a company that provide me with a valued service and take the pain away from dealing with numerous agencies as they have placed a number of quality candidates. The staff that have been recruited via Remit have remained loyal to Affinity Sutton and this is very important in terms of investing in training and developing staff.
What were your perceptions about working with a recruitment company before we started?
I have dealt with numerous recruitment agencies over the years and have always disliked the hard sell, cold calling approach. I much rather deal with agencies that have been recommended or I have personally approached. In my dealings with Remit Resources not once have I felt the need to fend them off as the relationship has always been about me approaching them when I have a need.
How has that perception changed?
In terms of the industry in general, not really but as I’ve said previously I don’t have that issue with Remit.
What are the three biggest benefits of working with Remit Resources?
1. Through working together an understanding of the business and also my needs has been built up.
2. Interest. By this I mean interested in us and what we do and recommending candidates that they believe would be suitable for the business instead of recommending every candidate on their books.
3. Honesty. If they haven’t got suitable candidates they are not afraid to say so.
Would you recommend Remit Resources?
Yes and I have.

Case Study
Remit Resources
Simon Purser - Head of IT Development and Support at Moat Housing Group.
What do you like most about working with Remit Resources?
From a candidate point of view I found Remit to be an extremely honest and knowledgeable Recruiter. They gained a good understanding of my needs and provided a discreet service at all times. They did not waste my time by trying to steer me into roles that were unsuitable, or sending me loads of irrelevant job specifications. They identified that a work environment and culture is just as important as financial gain and put me in touch with an employer that matched my requirements perfectly.
What were your perceptions about working with a recruitment company before we started?
I’ve spent too many days speaking to consultants that had ‘talked at me’, ‘spoke over me’ or not returned my calls. Many are too focused on filling the roles they have, regardless of suitability of the candidate.
How has that perception changed?
I have been really impressed with the service I received from Remit Resources. I have always been fairly sceptical of Recruitment consultants but RR were knowledgeable and kept in touch through the whole process. The role that they found me is a perfect fit and I couldn’t endorse their services enough.
What are the three biggest benefits of working with Remit Resources?
1. Follows up and communicates well throughout the recruitment process
2. Ability to identify the work environment and culture
3. A very professional approach and detailed knowledge and understanding of their area of business
Would you recommend Remit Resources?
Thank you very much for all your help in assisting in my job search. I was very impressed with your approach and thank you very much for all your advice and assistance. I will not hesitate in using you again in the future and have already recommended you to many of my contacts.
