Page 4: System analysis & design

System analysis and design is about modelling.

Trying to understand a problem through modelling in order to come up with a solution.

Page 5: System analysis & design

There is an increasing need for graduates to understand the fundamentals of systems analysis and design.

Cap252 offers theoretical knowledge and practical application of the area system analysis and system design to enable student to be competitive and informed in their future study or future employment

Page 6: System analysis & design

Describe the roles of system analysts and designers and their role in system development.

Describe various system development methodologies. Distinguish the process of systems analysis and design

in structured and object-oriented systems development methodologies and life-cycles.

Apply principles of system design , and explain relationship of system design to system analysis.

Page 7: System analysis & design

Object Oriented analysis and design: Use case design. Sequence diagrams. Conceptual models. Contracts. Collaboration diagrams. Class diagrams.

Structured analysis & design.

Page 8: System analysis & design

Appreciate that a range of valid solutions exist for any given problem.

Explain the interdependence and relationships between all stake-holders in the system development process.

Page 9: System analysis & design

Model and design logical and physical systems using object oriented techniques.

Interpret and evaluate system analysis and design models created using both structured and object oriented techniques.

Create analysis and design models using elements of the unified modeling language (UML).

Page 10: System analysis & design

Develop and practice skills and competencies necessary to undertake a requirements analysis for a business application.

Apply problem solving techniques at different levels of abstraction and understand the effect this may have on system specification.
