• A recent GlobeSt.com article discussed HUD data that showed only 65 affordable units exist for every 100 low-income renters in the country. This is a supply/demand gap that is only expected to widen.

• GlobeSt.com indicates that many start-ups and crowdfunding ventures are targeting this market using social investing as the pitch. Meaning, investors voluntarily accept lower returns because of the positive impact on the community the deal will have.
