summer day camp discipline policy

Child’s Name: ___________________________________________________ Grade entering: _____________

Pulaski Academy believes that the ultimate goal of any strong disciplinary program is self discipline. Discipline procedures in Summer Day Camp are behavior modification and classroom management techniques. We use a positive redirection in our discipline by recognizing appropriate behavior and rewarding this behavior in a positive way. Camp rules are posted in the classroom. When a child is having difficulty remembering the rules, and positive reinforcement is not having an effect, the child is removed from the classroom with an explanation from the teacher as to why this action was necessary .the child then sits quietly from 2 to 5 minutes before being allowed to return to his/her activity. In some instances the parent will be contacted.

Parents’ knowledge and understanding of the Day Camp rules and policies help minimize most problems. We ask that you take the time to go over the camp rules listed below with your child. We appreciate your support.

SuMMer dAY cAMP ruleS:1. I will be polite and respectful to adults2. I will use kind words and keep my hands to myself3. I will behave appropriately in the halls, classrooms, bathroom & playground4. I will follow directions5. I will take care of school property
