Through the brainstorming process, I came up with 21 different elements to be included on my homestead site. By separating the elements into different groups, my goals were beginning to become distinguishable. Doing this multiple times showed patterns that will allow me to incorporate certain elements as multifunctioning. For Example: the “tool shed” could double as the “wild game processing station.” Also, the “pollinator garden” will not only be visually appealing, but it will help our “beehives” flourish.

Existing Features: -raised beds -chicken coop-uninhabited beehives-fertile soil that has been farmed for over 75 years

Challenges: -downward sloping driveway may cause runoff issues -the preexisting structures (chicken coop, hives, beds) may have to be moved or rebuilt to accommodate for other elements to be added-no gutters on house (runoff issue)-not enough privacy from neighbors-minimal experience with raising goats

Opportunities: -southeast facing roof of living quarters is good for solar paneling-great sun exposure for front yard gardening
