From the Pastor: For the sake of health and hygiene, we have intro-duced some changes at Mass. If you were here this past weekend, you heard these changes announced

(See below). A couple of people had a question about not being able to receive both the Body and Blood of Christ. Do we receive the full grace of the Sacrament if we only receive the Body or the Blood of Christ and not both? The answer is “Yes!” Receiving only one form of communion carries the fullness of the grace of the Sacra-ment. While it is true that, when possible, receiving both species helps us to appreciate and value the fullness of the sacrifice of Christ, either the Body or the Blood of Christ is sufficient. Liturgical changes: 1. Sign of peace: those who do not wish to shake hands do not need to do so. You may wave, show a “vee” peace sign with your fingers, bow, do a fist bump, or an elbow bump, or use the American Sign Language form for “peace be with you” which is placing the palms of your hands together in front of you, then you twist the hands once and smoothly bring them apart, down, and toward your sides. Those who continue to desire to share a handshake of peace must respect the wishes of others. 2. Communion: We will not offer communion in the form of the Blood of Christ, neither to the Eucharistic Ministers from the presider’s chalice, nor to the congregation. 3. Communion: We encourage people to receive the Body of Christ in the hand to prevent the Eucharistic minister from accidentally touching the tongue of the communicant. Peace, Fr. Andy

Please pray to end world hunger... We pray for: • Children in the U.S. and around the world whose families suffer from food

insecurity, especially during the summer, when school meals are not provided, • Parents struggling to make ends meet, that they would find a steady and sufficient source of income to provide food for their families, • The Church, that we would be the hands and feet of Jesus in our respective neighborhoods to those suffering food insecurity, • Our nation's leaders, that they would value summer nutrition programs and consider them a priority in their agenda.

God our sustainer,

We ask you to pour your powerful Spirit into all who are empty this day: fill the hearts of persons who are troubled. Fill the minds of people who are confused. Fill the stomachs of children who are hungry. Fill the souls of people who are feeling lost. Fill the lives of all who need you, but do not know you. May your spirit fill us all to overflowing, dear Lord, and may it inspire us to share your abundance with others, so that there will be no more empty hearts, stomachs, and souls. We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ, who fills lives with your endless grace. Amen.

CHANGE Lent is all about change and change is usually not easy. In order to change we have to leave something behind. Today we hear about a very old man who decides to an-swer God’s call. Abram experiences a tremendous amount of change when he leaves everything behind, risking it all for God’s promise. Jesus changes, is trans-figured, right before the eyes of his disciples. The Lenten scriptures issue the call for us to change, to be transfig-ured, so that we, too, will soon share in the glory of God. What is it that the Lord is asking us to leave behind? Are we willing to take the risk for the promise made by God? These questions are at the heart of the Lenten journey of conversion. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

Paz, Pr. Andy
