A Note from Fr. Patrick
Merry Christmas! A blessed and merry Christmas to all of you from the entire staff at St. Paul’s and, especially, from the Dominican Friars. Every day we have the great blessing of living out the Incarnation with you. Jesus Christ came into this world to save us from sin and death. His coming changes everything. It is our continual prayer here at St. Paul’s that the Incarna-tion might change you and your lives each and every day. May God bless you abundantly during this wonderful season of Christmas. Parish Offices Closed: December 24-January 1
The parish offices will be closed from December 24 until January 1 to allow our staff a much needed and deserved break. Should a sacramental emergency arise during that period, the priests will be available through the emergency line on the parish phoneline. Should a non-emergency need arise during that time, please email me at [email protected]. Parish Conversation: Hearing from Those who could not Attend Our parish conversations were well attended and full of lively and
good discussions. We are aware, however, not everyone who wanted to attend and contrib-ute was able to do so. Below are the two questions from our conversations. If you would like to add your thoughts (and I hope you will) please email Valli Youngs ([email protected]) with your responses by December 31. Please label your email: Parish Conversations
It is important to note at this stage we are not problem solving or addressing ques-tions of the institutional Church. We want to remain focused on our community, what makes it great, and our hopes and dreams for its future. As we reflect upon the end of our 50th year, we want to walk forward together into the next 50. Before we can do that, the staff and Parish Pastoral Council want to hear from you so as to better understand who we are as a community, what we value, and how we can dream together.
Question 1: “What is it about St. Paul’s Catholic Center that attracts you to it as your spiritual home?”
For this question, we recognize the reasons which attracted you may not be the reasons you stay; you may be concerned the things that attracted you initially are not as evident now; or you love everything about St. Paul's. We want to hear why St. Paul's is your home.
Question 2: “What would you hope to be retained or created anew for the future of the SPCC community?”
For this question, we recognize there is a natural ebb and flow to ministry and the life of a community. At the same time, a community reflects its people. Therefore, in order to move forward, we want to hear on this ques-tion what values, ministries, and dreams you hope we can renew, continue, or start anew. I hope to hear from as many of you as possible and I look forward to reviewing all of the responses with the staff and Parish Pastoral Council in January.

Mother’s Helper Needed
One of our parishioners is experi-encing a difficult pregnancy and has been prescribed bed rest. She has two adorable little girls and she is asking for some help from her St. Paul family. The older one is in school during the day, but mom needs some help minding the little one! If you have a few hours you can donate to help this family, please contact the parish office, [email protected]. Thank you!
Liturgical Elves Needed!
Volunteers are needed in the church on Monday, December 23 from 10am-5pm to help prepare the church for Christmas.
Are you a crack Christmas tree assem-bler? A proud poinsettia person? Happy to hoist curtains? Or are you a genius with general tidy-up?
We need YOU! Snacks provided!
Please email the office, [email protected] and let us know your availability so that we can coor-dinate work schedules. Thank you!
Food Drive Thanks
Thank you for all who donated items to the Fall Food Drive to help those suffering from food insecurity in our community. The four agencies are sharing in your many blessings that totaled around $889 of monetary donations and 129 bags of non-perishable food, toiletries, and personal care items. Your generosity is humbling and greatly appreciated by our brothers and sisters in need. Also, thank you to all of the volun-teers that came out to help with the sorting and sack-ing of the donations. Your help is much appreciated! “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” —Matthew 25:40

Children’s Letters to Santa
Dear Santa, Could you come early this year? I’ve been really super good, but I don’t know if I can last much longer. Please hurry. Love, Jordan Dear Santa, I lost my list of toys, so please just send me the stuff you forgot from last year. Todd Dear Santa, How will you get into our house this year? We don’t have a chimney and my father just installed a very expensive security system. Julie Dear Santa, What should I leave for the reindeer to eat? Do they like cookies too? My mom won’t let me bring hay into the liv-ing room. Your friend, Sandy Dear Santa, I need a new skateboard for Christmas. The one I got crashes too much. Band-aids would be okay too. David
