My dear people of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, I want to take this opportunity on behalf of Fr. Dass and myself to sin-cerely thank you for your many kindnesses shown to us this past Christmas season; the meals, treats, cards and gifts were deeply appreciated. As you know, Fr. Dass is at home in India for a month enjoying a well-deserved vacation with his family and friends. I can tell you he enjoys serving you as he often comments how busy the parish is, and that the busyness is a good thing. Your support for our ministry is greatly appreciated also. We especially want to thank all those involved in the various liturgical ministries – Decoration and Environment, Sacristans, Servers, Music Ministry, Choirs, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Communion, Collectors, and Gift Bearers – for assisting us in providing meaningful liturgical celebrations. We also want to take this opportunity to acknowledge our often unsung heroes, our parish staff, catechists, administrative and maintenance volunteers, including collection counters who do much behind the scenes. As we head into Ordinary Time, begin 2019 and the final chapter of our parish realignment – total amalgamation – hiccups can be expected. One way to help make the transition smoother is that all cheques now be addressed to St. Michael the Archangel Parish, or simply St. Michael’s. Donations for specific projects can be noted in the “Memo” section of your cheques so the proper account can be credited. To make financial matters going forward even easier, I ask that you seriously consider Pre Authorised Debit as your means of making your regular Sunday Offering; it is the most secure for all involved, and “Offering Cards” can be provided so parishioners can still participate in the physical act of placing something in the collection basket. Once again, thank you, and God’s abundant blessings be upon all of us as we continue forward to His kingdom.

Before performing a baptism, the priest approached the young father and said solemnly, "Baptism is a serious step. Are you prepared for it?" "I think so," the man replied. "My wife has made appetizers and we have a caterer coming to provide plenty of cookies and cakes for all of our guests." "I don't mean that," the priest responded. "I mean, are you prepared spiritually?" "Oh, sure," came the reply. "I've got a keg of beer and a case of whiskey."

Millennium Memorial Wall—In the year 2000 the first millennium board was started and is now complete. A second board has been started. Like the first board, there is enough space to place 54 name plaques. The boards are located on the inside wall at the main entrance to the church on either side of the center aisle. If you have a friend or relative interested in adding a loved ones name on a plaque, please contact Sandy at 778-5150 for further information.
Martha’s Ministry You are invited to join this small crew that cleans the Lord's House once a month. You'll find that it is not only fun working with them but also very gratifying as well. An established routine is followed consisting mainly of light dusting and sweeping. No heavy lifting. There are currently five teams, consisting of five or six members, who rotate on a monthly basis with each team serving only twice per year. It only takes an hour or two of your time. Please phone the Parish Office 778-5150 if you are interested.
If you have any questions concerning the Liturgy, Sacraments, Canon Law or anything church related please write your question down, sign your name and put it in the glass jars of which you will find at all the entrances of the church and Fr. Paul will address them in our Faith Fact Corner. Thank You!
St. Andrew’s Church is continuing with their “Shingle Fund Campaign”. Bundles are $ 30.00 each and may be in memory of a loved one. For more information please contact Helen Land at 773-9787. Total raised so far is $ 4325.00
A Wrinkle in Time A little girl got on her grandpa's lap and said, "Did God make me?" "Yes," the grandpa replied. "Did God make you too?" "Yes," the grandpa said. "Well," the little girl said, looking at his wrinkles and thinning hair. "He sure is doing a better job nowadays!"

The Friends of Camp Sheldrake are spearheading a fundraising campaign to assist Camp Sheldrake, an accredited non profit Catholic based camp located in Miramichi, N.B. The Camp offers summer programs for kids of all denominations from ages 5 -17 and has a history of subsidizing kids from lower income families. To offset the challenges of lower government grants, higher increased costs and required infrastructure repairs, we require the ongoing support of businesses and people in the community. Please join us, in the hopes that we can raise $15,000 to help the camp, not only meet it current challenges, but also be able to provide kids with a great camping experience for years to come.
