NEXT WEEK , the diocese-wide collection will support the Clergy Health and Retirement Trust which cares for the health and well-being of our 590 priests. Our priests are always there for us; they share Christ’s good news, joyfully perform good works, and spread good faith to all they encounter. You can show your gratitude by giving generously to the collection. You are also invited to make your gift online at clergytrust.org or text the word PRIEST to 56512 (msg. & data rates may apply). And don’t forget to find and follow the Trust on Facebook by searching “@ClergyTrust.” Thank you in advance for your gen-erous and prayerful support of our priests.

September 10 ~ Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them.” These words are hope-filled words but they are also challenging. We know Christ is present when we are gathered for Eucharist. We believe He is present when we are with friends and family. Are we as aware that Christ is present when we are with people who may hold opposing views? Does Christ’s presence make a difference in those situa-tions? Take some time this week to consider these words of Jesus, asking for the grace to be aware of Christ’s presence in all interactions and conversations.

TIME WITH GOD’S WORD every Thursday evening 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Parish Office. All are welcome.

DID YOU KNOW? Learn to “Stop” Inappropriate Activity Before It Happens Child safety tip: Teach your child to respect the word “stop!” Teach your preschooler that “stop” means “stop,” and that your child has the right to stop people from touching his or her body. Obviously, exceptions will have to be made for doctors and parents, but even parents must listen when a child doesn’t want to be tickled or hugged anymore. Reinforcing this excellent lesson gives your child the power to recognize - and to stop - “bad touching” by others if it should happen.

IS RCIA FOR YOU? There are many reasons why you may want to become involved in the RCIA. Do any of these fit you? I have never been baptized. I am married to a Catholic and attend Mass, but just

don’t know what the next step may be. I have been baptized in another Christian denomina-

tion and wish to become Catholic. I have been baptized Catholic, but have not received

any other sacraments. Do you know someone who might be interested in being in full communion with the Catholic Church? Ask, encourage, and invite them to this program. The journey begins with one small step! Call Ann Moberg at 508-465-1959 for more information.
