Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time — June 10, 2018

We return today to Sundays in Ordinary Time. In a sense “Ordinary Time” is time that falls outside the major holy seasons of the year: Easter, Christmas, Advent, and Lent. But Ordinary Time is not just the absence of a major season any more than our lives are ordinary on days that are not holidays. Ordinary Time forms the foundation of the liturgi-cal year; after all, it comprises almost two-thirds of the cal-endar. May we appreciate the heft of Ordinary Time as we settle into the longest season of the year.

Our Sunday offering for the weekend of June 3, 2018 was $14,271. The collection for the Maintenance Fund received $2,804. Thank you for your generous offerings.

Today’s readings can be found at #881 in the Glory & Praise books.

Today is “WHEELCHAIR SUNDAY”! Please open your hearts and join the Knights of Columbus for a brief presentation on how you can help someone in need receive a free wheelchair.

Are you new to the parish? Pick up a registration form in the narthex or in the parish office. These can be dropped in the basket with the Sunday collection or returned to the parish office.

Registering with the parish helps us to keep you informed about parish events and is important when preparing for sacramental celebrations (baptisms, marriages, etc.)

The Pilgrim Virgin statue of Our Lady of Fati-ma will be available to visit parishioners’ homes to foster family recitation of the Holy Rosary. Starting next weekend, the Legion of Mary will be taking sign-ups for families who would like to participate.

Feel free to contact our Pastoral Council with your sugges-tion about how to build and strengthen our parish by emailing: [email protected].

REFLECTION

Send our high school students to Steubenville NorCal Conference in July! We will be operating a Father's Day photo booth on the weekends of June 9-10 and June 16-17. We will also be selling donuts on Father's Day.

We are grateful for your generous support through our sponsor envelopes. We will continue to have the enve-lopes available until the end of June. Please return enve-lopes to the parish office by then.

Faith Formation Registration for the next school year 2018-2019 is now open. You may register in the parish office. Please come ready with your child’s baptism certifi-cate, First Communion certificate (for Confirmation stu-dents), and registration payments (cash or check).

The Faith Formation program offers religious education classes for first graders (First Communion preparation) through Confirmation. Classes take place on Wednesday afternoons starting in the fall. Register today!

We are looking for new catechists for the 2018-2019 Faith Formation year. Do you want to share your love of our faith with the next generation? If so, sign up to be a cate-chist. Classes take place on Wednesday afternoons and materials are provided. For more information, contact Jerome at [email protected].

To all golfers and golf aficionados, this is your chance to shine. Use your talent and passion for golf to serve God and our parish. St. Joseph Parish will have a fundraising golf tournament on August 18, 2018 at Paradise Valley Golf Course in Fairfield. We need golf players and spon-sors for the raffle drawings and silent auction. For details, call Don Fernandez at (707) 365-2561.

Pre-Cana Marriage Preparation: Monday, July 2 at 6:00 pm, continues for five weeks

Those planning to be married in the Catholic Church should begin the preparation process at least six months before the desired wedding date.

For more info or to register, call or visit the parish office.
