XXX Sunday Ordinary Time Dear Sisters and Brothers, The beauty of the Holy Scripture is, that even if it is composed of many books and letters written on the extent of centuries, they present a wholeness of revelation accounting for human origins and human destiny. In last Sunday’s readings we learned the essence of whole Bible summed up in the commandment: “To love God and our neighbor as ourselves.”

This Sunday’s readings show us where we will get following that commandment. The glory of heaven is the goal of our existence. To be in the company of God seeing him face to face, knowing him as he is, it will be the culmination of God’s revelation to us. The Beatitudes that Jesus reveals to us, are the consequence of putting into practice the com-mandment of love. Jesus reveals to us how are we to approach the different situations, where our faith and love will be tested. Tested in order not to put us down, but to give us the opportunity to express our best of our faith and love. The Beatitudes reveal the holiness of the persons of faith, who humbly subject every circumstance of life to God’s will, standing for what is right and just for themselves and for others. They have total trust in the love of God that surpasses all of our expectations. The persons who assimilated the love of God and share it with others in this heroic way, we call them Saints. They let themselves be transformed by the love of God and of neighbor, because they were capable of receiving the plenitude of God’s love. Every Saint that we celebrate, is unique and different in expressing the truth of the Gospel. And every soul in heaven, is in this same way recognized by resemblance to Jesus in some degree, more or less perfect. Finding that image of God in us in heaven will be the uniting factor, by which we will see how each of us is saved by Jesus and the merits of his passion, death and resurrection. Saint John in the book of Revelation describes to us the vision of heaven, where everything created is subjected to the glory of God. All angels are the leaders in the worship before the throne of God, and than all multitudes of those who are saved from every nation, race, people and tongue. What Saint John is assuring us, is that in heaven there is a place for all who place themselves in the hands of God. We all are saved by the blood of the Lamb. He says: “we are God’s children now; ..... we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is “. As we contemplate All Saints and admire their way to heaven, we strive to find our own way to heaven, where we will join all of our faithful departed. Let us keep all this things in mind, especially when we think about our loved ones who have died. Let the hurt of loss be healed by the conviction of God’s promise of heaven, where we will meet all our faithful departed in partaking of God’s glory; where we all will be similar to the angels, enjoying the supremacy of God’s love and mercy. This joy of heaven begins here on earth for us who believe. Let us not surrender to the sadness of death and grave, but let us look to the heights of heaven where the souls of our departed are. They are not buried with the body in the grave, but they are already before the Face of God in heaven. Let us be aware of it as we visit the cemeteries. Let our eyes go up to heaven and our hearts may follow with love. God bless everyone always!!! Don’t forget to vote for what is right. XXXI Domingo de Tiempo Ordinario.

Queridas Hermanas y Hermanos.

La belleza de la Sagrada Escritura es que, incluso si se compone de mu-

chos libros y cartas escritos sobre la extensión de los siglos, presentan una revela-

ción completa que explica los orígenes y el destino humanos. En las lecturas del

Domingo pasado aprendimos la esencia de toda la Biblia resumida en el manda-

miento: “Amar a Dios y a nuestro prójimo como a nosotros mismos”.

La lectura de este Domingo nos muestra donde iremos siguiendo ese mandamiento. La gloria del cielo es el objetivo

de nuestra existencia. Estar en compañía de Dios viéndolo cara a cara, conociéndolo tal como es, será la culminación

de la revelación de Dios para nosotros. Las Bienaventuranzas que Jesús nos revela, son la consecuencia de poner en

práctica el mandamiento del amor. Jesús nos revela cómo debemos abordar las diferentes situaciones, donde se

pondrá a prueba nuestra fe y nuestro amor. Probado para no menospreciarnos, sino para darnos la oportunidad de

expresar lo mejor de nuestra fe y amor.

Las Bienaventuranzas revelan la santidad de las personas de fe, que humildemente someten cada circunstancia

de la vida a la voluntad de Dios, defendiendo lo que es correcto y justo para ellos y para los demás , Tienen total

confianza en el amor de Dios que sobrepasa todas nuestras expectativas. A las personas que asimilaron el amor

de Dios y lo compartieron con los demás de esta manera heroica, los llamamos Santos. Se dejaron transformar por el

amor de Dios y del prójimo, porque fueron capaces de recibir la plenitud del amor de Dios.

Cada Santo que celebramos es único y diferente en expresar la verdad del Evangelio. Y toda alma en el cielo es re-

conocida de la misma manera por semejanza con Jesús en algún grado, más o menos perfecta. Encontrar esa imagen

de Dios en nosotros en el cielo será el factor de unión, por el cual veremos cómo cada uno de nosotros es salvado

por Jesús y los méritos de su pasión, muerte y resurrección.

San Juan en el libro del Apocalipsis nos describe la visión del cielo, donde todo lo creado está sujeto a la gloria de

Dios. Todos los ángeles son los líderes en la adoración ante el trono de Dios, y que todas las multitudes de los que

se salvan de toda nación, raza, pueblo y lengua.

Lo que nos asegura San Juan es que en el cielo hay lugar para todos los que se ponen en las manos de Dios. Todos

somos salvos por la sangre del Cordero. Dice: “ahora somos hijos de Dios; seremos como el, porque lo veremos cómo

es”. Mientras contemplamos a Todos los Santos y admiramos su camino al cielo, nos esforzamos por encontrar

nuestro propio camino al cielo, donde nos uniremos a todos nuestros fieles difuntos.

Tengamos todas estas cosas en mente, especialmente cuando pensamos en nuestros seres queridos que han

muerto. Dejemos que el dolor de la perdida se cure con la convicción de la promesa celestial de Dios, donde

encontramos todos nuestros fieles difuntos participando de la gloria de Dios; donde todos seremos similares a los

ángeles, disfrutando de la supremacía del amor y la misericordia de Dios. Este gozo del cielo comienza aquí en la tierra

para los que creemos. No nos rindamos a la tristeza de la muerte y la tumba, sino miremos a las alturas del cielo

donde están las almas de nuestros difuntos. No están enterrados con el cuerpo en la tumba, pero ya están ante

el Rostro de Dios en el cielo. Seamos conscientes de ello al visitar los cementerios. Dejemos que nuestros ojos se

eleven al cielo y que nuestros corazones sigan con amor.

¡¡¡Dios les bendiga a todos siempre!!!

No olvide votar por lo que es correcto. Oremos para que se haga la voluntad de Dios en las elecciones y quien sea el

que gane, sea para la gloria de Dios y nuestro bienestar.

La Solemnidad de todos los Santos está muy vinculada a la Conmemoración de los Fieles Difuntos, podríamos decir “alegría y lágrimas íntimamente unidas de la esperanza cristiana

de fe” (Papa Francisco). Noviembre 1° honra en una sola celebración a hombres y mujeres a los cuales la Iglesia no ha reconocido “canónicamente la santidad”, algo así, para entendernos mejor, como cuándo dedicamos un día a los “caídos en combate por defender a la patria”, también muchos/as han defendido los valores del Reino en el “anónimato”, en el pasado la gente lo expresaba muy

bien cuando se decía de alguien virtuoso “murió en olor de santidad”. Un ejemplo de lo anterior es Oscar Romero (obispo y mártir), todos sabemos que ya durante su vida muchos reconocían su labor en razón de la fe de valores como la justicia, la paz y los

derechos humanos. Desde la parte cátolica, alguien lo nominó como “San Romero de América” y los anglicanos le dedicaron una imagen mucho antes que se le canonizara. La frase que mejor resume todo esto fue lo dicho por I. Ellacuría cuando dijo “con Monseñor

Romero, Dios pasó por El Salvador”. Lo de los difuntos lo podemos refererir al pasaje del libro de los Macabeos (12,42-45) que les invitamos a leer. Usando la misma imagen del principio, es decir, la “del combate”, a

Judas Macabeo se le “sugiere” ofrecer una oración y una ofenda en expiación por los pecados de los caídos. Buen Domingo a todos/as.

« Réjouissez-vous, soyez dans l’allégresse »

Aujourd'hui, nous célébrons la réalité d'un très consolant mystère salvifique exprimé dans le "credo” : « Je crois à la communion des saints ». Tous les saints qui, depuis la Vierge Marie, sont déjà passés à la vie éternelle, forment une unité : ils sont l'Église des bienheureux, que Jésus félicite : « Heureux les cœurs purs : ils verront Dieu !» (Mt 5,8). Ils sont aussi en communion avec nous. La foi et l'espérance ne peuvent nous unir car ils jouissent déjà de la vision éternelle de Dieu ; mais ce qui nous rassemble, c'est l'amour « qui ne passe jamais

» (1Co 13,13) ; cet amour qui, avec eux, nous unit au Père, au Christ Rédempteur et au Saint Esprit. Cet amour les rend solidaires et attentifs à nous. Nous ne vénérons donc pas les saints seulement pour leur exemple, mais surtout pour l'unité dans l'Esprit de toute l'Église, qui se fortifie par la pratique de l'amour fraternel. Cette profonde unité doit nous faire sentir proches de tous les saints qui, avant nous, ont cru et espéré cela même que nous croyons et espérons et qui, surtout, ont aimé Dieu le Père et leur frère les hommes en tâchant d'imiter l'amour du Christ. Les saints apôtres, les saints martyrs, les saints confesseurs qui ont existé tout au long de l'histoire sont donc nos frères et nos intercesseurs ; en eux se sont accomplis les paroles

prophétiques de Jésus : « Heureux, serez-vous si l'on vous insulte, si l'on vous persécute et si l'on dit faussement toute sorte de mal contre vous, à cause de moi. Réjouissez-vous, soyez dans l'allégresse, car votre récompense sera grande dans les cieux !» (Mt 5,11-12). Les

trésors de leur sainteté sont des biens de famille, sur lesquels nous pouvons compter. Ce sont les trésors du ciel que Jésus nous invite à réunir (cf. Mt 6,20). Comme l'affirme le Concile Vatican II, « leur fraternelle sollicitude aide donc beaucoup notre faiblesse » (Lumen

gentium, 49). Cette solennité nous apporte une réconfortante nouvelle, qui nous invite à la joie et à la fête.
