From the Pastor- Fr. Stan June 11, 2017
Dear Sisters and Brothers, After Pentecost we are back in Ordinary Time, with the green color of vestments to be the dominant, but because of the Feasts of The Blessed Trinity this weekend and Corpus Christi next Sunday we have more solemn white color for the altar. With the events of Pentecost, the disciples were given everything that they needed, to bring others to Christ, to bring the whole world to God as Jesus would say - to build his Church- " You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church and the powers of hell will not prevail against it." We read in the Gospel for today : " God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life." John 3:16 As we read in this most beautiful statement, it is the Mission Statement, and the purpose of Jesus coming into the world. But that statement, that summary of the Gospel requires the cooperation of the believers. That - everyone who believes - it is you and me and all people of the world who are invited to believe because of the life and the deeds of Jesus. Jesus made it a mission for the disciples, to go out to the whole world to tell that news to all. Now in time, it's our turn to continue that mission. It was given by Christ not only to the 12 Apostles, but to all disciples, to all believers. We are to witness it to all, even to those who believe in nothing, even to those who refuse to believe in God. Let the - Joy of the Gospel - as Pope Francis says, permeates our lives, let that joy bring light to those around us, let it bring hope, mercy and peace. But we want to remember, that the revelation of God to the humanity did not end with the Pentecost. God bestowed on us his Spirit, in order to continue to reveal himself to us and to the world. We are invited to grow in personal friendship and knowledge of God. As Jesus promised; He and the Father would come and make their dwelling in the hearts of those who would invite them into their lives and hearts. So there is no limit to that intimacy with God, to the intimacy with the Three Persons of the Blessed Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It's all to be discovered and enjoyed by us. The Saints did it. Their experience and knowledge of God, made them to be the credible witnesses of what they received. It is a precious gift of salvation that Jesus brings to us in his coming into the world, that we might be saved. Who wants to be saved from sin and death, needs to come to Christ. This is what Jesus did; lived, died and rose from the death so that we might believe and that we might have life eternal. Lord guide us in the ways of our salvation, in the ways of the Gospel, so that we experience your love and Mercy, and than, share it with others. God speaks to us in the beauty of creation, than in the beauty of salvation. Let's allow ourselves to experience those graces. Let us hurry to love people, because they are walking away into the next life - someone said. We have limited time, let's make good use of it by preparing ourselves for heaven, by being good to ourselves and to others on earth. Let's ponder the mystery of the Blessed Trinity and how we relate to Them, as we will spend eternity doing just that. It must be fascinating, to learn everyday something new about love, about God. Happy Trinity Sunday !!! Happy God's Family Sunday !!! I want to take the opportunity to thank all of you for the fruitful year as the school year is ending. To all parish staff, clergy, volunteers, teachers, and all helping hands and helping hearts, I want to thank you all for all your generosity, sacrifices, help and support in making our parish the place of faith and welcome to all who search for closeness with God. For making it the family of faith, where we celebrate what we believe, where we are becoming what we believe. God bless everyone !!! God bless America and the whole world !!!

ST. ANNE’S THOMAS CONERTY OUTREACH
The generosity of the parishioners of
St. Anne Parish allows us to reach out to people in our Brentwood/Bay Shore neigh-
borhood who struggle each day to make ends meet. Thank you to all who generously do-nate to our food pantry. During May 2017,
we were happy to assist 122 families, 24 seniors, 158 adults
and 147 children. We also helped 11 new families.
On May 15th, we received an abundant
amount of non-perishable food from the U.S. Postal Carriers. Their annual “Stamp Out
Hunger” food drive does help to feed many in our area. Thanks to all who donated food to
this event on May 13th.
School is almost finished for the year and the outreach is now requesting school sup-
plies for the school year 2017-2018. The supply list is always very
extensive: composition notebooks, Ticonderoga #2 pencils, pens, crayons, glue, glue sticks, Fiscar scissors, highlighters, dry
erase markers, thin washable markers, rulers, ruled index cards, pencil cases, 1”and 2” binders, loose leaf paper, 2-pocket folders (laminated or plastic), lunch bags and back-packs. Any donated school supply item will
be gratefully appreciated.
Here are some items we need this month: soup, Goya beans, cereal, jelly (small jars), juices, toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, shaving cream,
disposable razors, diapers (size 4 & 5), baby wipes, feminine hygiene products, pet food
