iBeacon Case Studies• iBeacon is an indoor positioning system - a new class of low-powered, low-cost

transmitters that can notify nearby devices of their presence. The technology enables a smart phone or other device to perform actions when in close proximity to an iBeacon.

• Functions: An iBeacon deployment consists of one or more iBeacon devices that transmit their own unique identification number to the local area. Software on a receiving device may then look up the iBeacon and perform various functions, such as notifying the user. iBeacons do not push notifications to receiving devices (other than their own identity). The mobile software can use signals received from iBeacons to trigger their own push notifications.

device) an array (unlimited) of all iBeacons found along with their properties (UUID, etc.). An iOs device receiving an iBeacon transmission can approximate the distance from the iBeacon. The distance (between transmitting iBeacon and receiving device) is categorized into 3 distinct ranges:

a) Immediate: Within a few centimetersb) Near: Within a couple of metersc) Far: Greater than 10 meters away

• Bluetooth Detection Page: This page will detect whether the bluetooth on the device is enabled for the detection of beacon. If the enabled it will shows a message saying the BT is enabled and of disabled it will redirect to the settings to enable BT.

• Registration and Login : User can register their credentials with the app. There is an option for the user to skip this process to go and take a look around on the app to make them much comfortable of using the app.

• Beacon Scan Page: This page will check whether the device is compactible with the NFC(Android) and iBeacon(ios7), if available then the device will scan for the Beacons, if not then it will make user available a QR code scanner which functions the same way as that of the beacon.

• Collection Page: This page will be empty before the user starts scanning a product. On detection of each beacon the product will get populated on the corresponding places.

• Help Page: This page let user know how to use the Beacon scanner and how the app works on scanning the beacons.

• Beacon Map Page: This page refers to a map which shows where are the beacons being placed on the shop. So that user will be much comfortable using it. Once a beacon is detected the user will get a full detail of the product and their related information.

• Profile and Edit Profile: This page refers to the details that’s being entered by a user at the time of registration. User will have an option to edit whenever they want to make it so.

• Full Collection page: This is the page where user can see a whole list of products that are being detected. This will redirect the user to a wallet page

• Add to Wallet: This page make user add the products to wallets. For ios it will be Pass wallet and android it will be some custom wallets by any third party.
