About the Camps • FREE regional basketball skills camp conducted by former UK four-time All-SEC Academic Team member Jarrod Polson • All school-age youth invited to participate • All youth receive free T-shirt and basketball • Water and food provided • Participants entered into a drawing for 2 basketball goals to be given away at the conclusion of each camp Sponsor Packet 2017 Camps - 4 pm to 7 pm Thursday, June 8 Lawrence County High School Monday, June 12 Pulaski County High School Tuesday, June 13 Letcher County Central High School Thursday, June 15 Menifee County High School Tuesday, June 20 Lee County High School Camp Objectives • Provide a safe, drug-free activity with the opportunity to interact with positive role models • Reach 1,000 school-age youth during 2017 • Give positive, anti-drug and self-esteem messages in conjunction with basketball skills instruction • Have 85 percent of youth participants pledge to remain drug-free • Enlist 125 volunteers to help with the camps • Engage the assistance of those in recovery programs • Have 250 parents/guardians attend a UNITE Foundation education program on heroin and current drug trends; how to talk to their children about drugs; and the signs, symptoms and dangers of drugs
