One of the things that brought fashion blogger Arielle Nachmani, founder of Something Navy, and Brandon Charnas together was their love of Halloween and horror movies, so it's notsurprising that he proposed on one of their favorite days of the year! "It's not typical, but it's so fitting for us," says Arielle, who said yes when her now-husband dressed up as a zombie groomand asked her to be his bride.

Though their engagement was on the scary side, the wedding, on October 18th, 2014, was anything but, featuring a classic all-white color scheme, pops of deep plum, and a gorgeous Miamivenue. "We wanted to look back and see something we'll love forever, so we went clean and chic," Arielle says. And of course the style-savvy bride didn't disappoint on her way down the aisle!

Arielle worked with Christian Siriano to custom-design her flowing gown, complete with a beaded belt at the waist and draped embellished sleeves. "I showed him a bunch of things I lovedand let him do his thing," she says. "My dress was the perfect combination of traditional and modern."

Her bouquet was a cluster of white-and-plum Casablanca calla lilies.

"I had the hardest time finding my wedding shoes," says Arielle of her beaded Rene Caovilla heels.


Arielle had three women by her side: Her sisters, Danielle and Michaela, served as her maids of honor, and her cousin Jenna was her bridesmaid. Danielle and Michaela wore white silk NiliLotan gowns inspired by Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's Narciso Rodriguez wedding dress. "I almost wore a dress like that myself," says the bride. "I went for something a little more dramatic,but knew they'd look amazing in it!"

The ceremony took place beneath a floral chuppah arranged under one of the Fisher Island Club's sprawling trees. "We wrote our own vows, so we asked our guests not to take any photos orvideo during the ceremony to keep it super intimate," Arielle says. And Arielle and Brandon are proof that things don't always go according to plan. "There were peacocks wandering aroundduring the ceremony, and then after we walked up the aisle, we turned the wrong way and had to go through the kitchen to get to cocktail hour!" she laughs.

For dinner, guests sat at long tables arranged al fresco, topped with lemon trees and arrangements of white-and-plum calla lilies, as well as white roses and tulips. Guests sipped on thecouple's signature cocktails — Patron with pineapple for the bride and Grey Goose with cucumber for the groom — and ate beet salad, steak, and fish before moving on to wedding cake. "Themenu was unreal," the bride raves.

For dessert, the bride and groom cut into a four-tiered cake topped with fresh calla lilies. "Brandon doesn't like chocolate, so we had vanilla cake with cream cheese and graham crackerfilling."

A night of dancing definitely calls for a second dress, and this fashion-loving bride didn't disappoint. "I actually hadn't thought about my late-night dress at all until the day before thewedding!" Arielle reveals. "My sister helped me find a white silk mini-dress online, we had it overnighted to us in Florida, and the first time I tried it on was when I changed into it for theparty. We added the belt from my wedding gown to jazz it up."

How else to end a spectacular evening than with fireworks? And a glamorous mini-moon, of course! "We went to Turks & Caicos, and are going to the Amalfi Coast next summer — Capri,Positano, and more!" says Arielle.

The bride, who usually loves to be on top of the details, was surprised by how she was able to let go and have a laid-back weekend. "I was shocked, but it did me good. Do everything you canto relax! And remember, even if something goes wrong, you just married your best friend. Nothing matters after that!"
