Beauty Therapy

This qualification reflects the role of individuals employed as beauty therapists to provide a broad range of beauty therapy treatments and services including facial treatments, body massage and treatments, hair removal, lash and brow treatments and make-up services. This includes consultation with clients to provide beauty advice, recommend beauty treatments and services, and sell retail skin-care and cosmetic products.

These individuals work relatively autonomously, and are accountable for personal outputs. PrerequisitesDomestic Students There are no mandatory requirements to enter into this course. However, having completed Year 12, hold a Certificate IV or have work experience in the field is recommended as minimum requirement to study at the Diploma level. Access to a computer, the Internet and an active email address and capacity to complete the assessment items within the required timeframes is required.

Queensford College uses the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) to identify the Learner’s Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) levels upon enrolment.

• Start with an overview of the industry to ensure that you have an understanding of customer requirements, how to process financial transactions and apply safe hygiene, health and work practices

• You will then learn safety essentials and how to research and apply beauty industry information to allow you to advise on beauty products and services

• Learn to prepare personalised aromatic plant oil blends for beauty treatments, design and apply make-up including for specialised occasions such as for photography and remedial camouflage make-up

• Learn to provide manicure, pedicure, lash, brow services and Provide facial treatments and skin care recommendations and waxing services

• And finally learn the Relaxation Massage/Spa specialised skills to assist with your desired entry into the beauty Industry

Vocational PlacementVocational placement is not formally required, however access to a workplace and a supervisor who is able to sign off on practical demonstration elements as part of this qualification will be required.
