Each group have the responsibility of planting, watering, pruning and harvesting their produce throughout this unit. Thank you so much to Bunnings Lidcombe for their generosity in donating the garden shed and our new greenhouse, and to our P and C for all their efforts in working with Bunnings to obtain the new gardening equipment. Week 9A Term 1 2020

Year 7 Technology Classes Our Year 7 Technology classes have been busy this week preparing their garden beds and have begun the process of planting their seedlings of mini herbs and vegetables. Each group have the responsibility of planting, watering, pruning and harvesting their produce throughout this unit. Thank you so much to Bunnings Lidcombe for their generosity in donating the garden shed and our new greenhouse, and to our P and C for all their efforts in working with Bunnings to obtain the new gardening equipment. Mandarin Club says “你好!” (Hello) to welcome you

On 11 March 2020 is the grand opening for Mandarin Club at SGHS. Students who are participating the Nation-

al Chinese Eisteddfod 2020 are lucky enough to become the first group of members at Mandarin Club.

Together with Ms Li, Ms Lee and Ms Fan, students enjoyed the well-known pop songs in Chinese, ate food which is called “Mi Bing”. Ms Li also demonstrated how to use Kuaiban, which literally means fast boards. Kuaiban is an art form which refers to bamboo clappers, a set of small bamboo boards or bones, the performer usually rattles to produce an accompanying beat.

When it was the end of the lunch time, students committed to design creative posters for Mandarin Club. They have also thanked teachers for providing opportunities for them to gather together and enjoy the Chinese culture.
