SOLUTION 1 Use social media like YouTube to provide information on

statistics and how to prevent teen pregnancy/HIV or STDs in a serious and funny way.

Do-it-yourself: you don’t need to work with teachers and principals to raise awareness about these issues.

Sexual health wellness will improve because teenagers are more knowledgeable on how to prevent STIs/teenage pregnancy and after-steps on what to do if the worse is to come.

SOLUTION 1 CONT. Youth wellness teams can assess their success by how

many views they receive. Teams can also ask others for how they looked the video/survey.

These videos will know what they are getting into by having sexual intercourse and what happens if they do get pregnant/an STI. This solution addresses mental wellness, sexual wellness, and physical wellness.

SOLUTION 2

Classes and workshops that teach others about the prevention of STIs and teenage pregnancy. Informative pamphlets and free contraceptives can be distributed during these classes and workshops.

Principals must be involved for approval. Sex Education and physical education teachers will be specialized to properly teach students about teenage pregnancy, contraceptives, STIs/HIV, etc. Teachers and other instructors must consult from the CPS Family Life and Comprehensive Sexual Health Education Guidelines.

These classes and workshops are a learning process to help improve the sexual wellness of students to stay healthy and knowledgeable.

SOLUTION 2 CONT. Surveys will be distributed to the students to assess what

they learned. Using initial tests in the beginning to see how much the students know about sexual health, and then using tests to see what they gained at the end of the class. Wellness teams can be involved with the curriculum by adding suggestions and input, however, only the teacher is allowed to pick and choose.

Mental wellness is very big because these classes and workshops are all about teaching others how to smarter and more knowledgeable about sexual health.

SOLUTION 3 A YWT can work with the local clinics to provide resources

and guest speakers to help prevent teenage pregnancy and STIs/HIV.

YWTs will have to work with principals and local clinics to get them involved. Administrators from each side will have to work together to mutually agree on the clinic providing for the students from the schools.

The project will improve the wellness of the school by providing professionals from the clinics to provide resources.

SOLUTION 3 CONT. Assessment on whether or not the contraceptives are being

taken, are teenage pregnancy rates going down, are students still getting STIs/HIV, etc.

Physical and mental wellness are being addressed because professionals can provide direct help to the students.
