Blessing to you all on this 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time!

So many times in the Christian life, we feel that we cannot approach the Lord with empty hands; we have to have something to offer Him. We even can believe that, until we have rid ourselves of all sin and have obtained perfection, we are not fit to ask anything from the Lord. What a great lie these are, and yet how easy it can be to fall into them. We see in the Gospel today, that the Lord does not need much at all to feed a whole town full of people. And why should He, is this not the same God who created the uni-verse out of NOTHING? God desires to bless His people, whether we come to Him with abundance or nothing at all, everything He touches He multiplies. Like beggars, let us bring our empty bowls before the Lord every day, with faith that He will fill it with all that we need. May we not look at the little we have but may we keep our eyes fixed on the abundance that He is waiting to give us. Therefore, with confidence, we approach the throne of God with hearts open to receive the multiplication of His goodness upon our lives.

Bendición para todos vosotros en este 17º Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario. Tantas veces en la vida cristiana, creemos que no podemos acercarnos al Señor con las manos vacías; tenemos que tener algo que ofrecerle. Incluso podemos creer que, hasta que no nos hayamos librado de todo pecado y han obtenido la perfección, no so-mos aptos para preguntar algo del Señor. Qué gran mentira son, y sin embargo lo fácil que puede ser caer en ellos. Vemos en el evangelio de hoy, que el Señor no necesita mucho para alimentar a toda una ciudad llena de gente. Y ¿por qué él, esto no es el mismo Dios que creó el universo de la nada? Dios quiere bendecir a su pueblo, si llegamos a él con la abundancia o na-da en absoluto, todo lo que toca lo que multiplica. Como mendigos, llevemos nuestros vacíos tazones ante el Señor cada día, con la fe que él te ha llenado con todo lo que ne-cesitamos. No podemos mirar lo poco que tenemos, pero podemos mantener nuestros ojos fijos en la abundancia que Él está esperando a darnos. Por lo tanto, con confianza, nos acercamos al trono de Dios con corazones abiertos para recibir la multiplicación de su bondad en nuestras vidas. Bendiciones en Cristo, Padre Panchito

Due to the recent monsoon storms, one of the outdoor statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary was damaged in the winds. However, the Queen of Peace Knights of Columbus have generously provided a new statue that will soon be installed in front of our parish on Macdonald Road!

Please feel free to enjoy the Marian shrine for times of prayer and medi-tation once the statue is installed.

Date Night on August 18th, 2018 in Madonna Hall starting at 6:30 PM. We will have our regular sign in, snacks, fellowship and prayer partners. Hoping to see all our couples.
