Techniques for Effective Proclaiming: Public Speaking Skills to Bring God’s Word to Life The Word communicates the voice of God to the gathered assembly. Readers, lectors, and proclaimers of the Gospel need to be aware of the skills that are needed to announce God’s Word with a well-trained tongue. Breathing, pacing, emphasis, and many other techniques will be explained in this interactive workshop. This workshop will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Room 5 in the school at 6:30 pm.

The Word of the Lord at Mass: Understanding the Lectionary for Lectors Discover the Lectionary: what it is, how it is designed, and how it works in harmony with the rhythms of the liturgical year. This work-shop will give liturgical ministers (especially lectors and readers), and everyone else a deeper understand-ing of the book and its role in Mass. We will meet in Room 5 in the school on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 6:30pm.

Literary Genres in the Lectionary: Proclaiming the Different Forms of Scripture “The liturgical proclamation of the word of God… [is] a dialogue between God and his people.” (Dies Domini 41) The scriptures on Sunday contain poetry, stories, prophesies, and discourses. This workshop will assist the parish lector and reader identify ways to prepare and pray with their readings and proclaim them with conviction and a clear understanding. This 3rd final workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 6:30pm in Room 5 of the school.

Sacrament Procedures

Baptisms: Pre-baptism Class is required before your date will be set. Please register two to three months in advance.

Weddings: Spiritual Preparation begins at least SIX months in advance. Do not make your reservations until you have met with the pastor.

Sacrament of the Sick: First Friday of the month at 7:30 am.

Communion Visits: Call the Parish Office.
