We welcome this child into our church family of faith.

ONLINE GIVING Our parish provides Online Giving as an electronic tool for contributions so you can give via the ‘web’.

Online Giving helps you maintain your giving especially while you cannot be here at Mass. This

also helps the parish streamline our cash flow, especially during this time when mass attendance is not allowed or bad weather or vacation times keep

us from attending our church.

Go to our parish website at www.sij.net to get started today.

Our deepest thank you to all who have already signed up for Online

Giving.

It truly has been such a help to us during this time.

Reopening Continues at Saint Isaac Jogues Parish... The school year is beginning, stores and restaurants are reopening, and we are all adjusting to the “new normal.” The daily parish routine, like everything else throughout the world, was disrupted. But, we are slowly, thoughtfully, and carefully beginning to reopen and move forward. Beginning Tuesday, September 8th, Saint Isaac Jogues Parish will make the following adjustments to our schedule: • Daily and Sunday Masses will continue as we have been doing. For the time being, there will be

NO Sunday evening Mass. Perhaps later in the Fall we will be able to resume the Sunday evening Mass.

• Confessions: Saturday afternoon, 3:30 until 4:15pm.

• Parish Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am until 3pm. • Wednesday Eucharistic Devotions, which we had during the summer months will be discontinued.

We are currently seeking approval for a plan to reopen our Chapel of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration.

• For the present time, meetings and organizations will meet via “zoom” for online events. Parish facilities are still unable to host group gatherings. As our school year progresses and we see exactly what that looks like regarding the use, cleaning, and availability of facilities, we may be able to begin seeing a resumption of on campus meetings of our parish groups, committees, and organizations. It’s important that we remain safe, responsible, and cautious in our reopening efforts.

• Sanitizing Workers NEEDED: With many high schools and colleges beginning the school year with remote learning, young people are at home. The parish would like to employ high school seniors and college age young people to sanitize our church/facilities as needed. We are looking for 10-15 young people interested in helping to keep our facilities clean and sanitized before/after events. An hourly wage will be paid and hours will vary and be flexible. Such a service may be just what you’re looking for to fill the “off hours” while attending “online school.” For information, please contact our Director of Facilities, Mr. Bruce Barker...

• Synchronous instruction for remote learners: To enable a safe, responsible, and effective reopening of our school and Religious Education Program, we have installed this state-of-the-art camera, monitor, and software learning system in our school enabling in classroom learning to be linked with at home learning for our students. Please consider making a gift to pay for this needed upgrade to keep our children safe and learning. Installed in our school, we need to raise $350,000 to pay for the system.

Saint Isaac Jogues School A Successful Reopening for the 2020-2021 School Year!

Monday, August 24, 2020

Thank you to our dedicated families and students! Father De Salvo, Father Twaruzek, Mrs. Burlinski and Miss Sullivan Welcome everyone back to school. God Bless and keep us all safe!

[Mrs. Carol Burlinski, Principal of Saint Isaac Jogues School, and Miss Diane Sullivan, Vice-Principal, welcome our young people back to a safe, responsible, and faith-filled school year at SIJ]

Synchronous instruction for remote learners: To enable a safe, responsible, and effective reopening of our school and Religious Education Program, we have installed this state-of-the-art camera, monitor, and software learning system in our school enabling in classroom learning to be linked with at- home learning for our students, not only for those unable to come back to the classroom at this moment, but also in the event that we will need to go back to completely remote at-home learning. Please consider making a gift to pay for this needed upgrade to keep our children safe and learning. Installed in our school, we need to raise $350,000 to pay for the system and “Covid-related” expenses to keep the school safe.

US Bishops’ Pro-Life Chairman Applauds Trump Administration for Ethical Scrutiny of Fetal Tissue Research Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann of Kansas City in Kansas, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities, applauded the Trump Administration following the release of the National Institutes of Health Human Fetal Tissue Research Ethics Advisory Board report in which the Board recommended withholding federal funding from 13 out of 14 research proposals involving the use of fetal tissue. “We applaud the Administration for moving NIH in a direction that shows greater consideration for medical ethics in research, and greater respect for innocent human life. It is neither ethical nor necessary to further violate the bodies of aborted babies by commodifying them for use in medical research. The victims of abortion deserve the same respect as every other human person. We are grateful that the Administration is following through on its commitment to end federal funding of research using aborted fetal tissue.”
