Synopsis of the Case �  A major technology producer is expanding its

production network.

�  This tech company is known for its high quality standards and depends on a flawless logistics process.

�  The prior logistics firm that this producer worked with did not comply with those standards.

�  As a result, this major tech company is currently seeking to outsource their logistical needs to another 3PL company.

�  Senior management is interviewing various bid teams in order to rectify the current problem.

Key Questions �  Define the proposed solution with an accurate

assessment of SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis.

�  What type of mapping process did your team use in order to solve this case?

�  How do the particular locations involved in this case affect/alter your intended outcome? If the locations do not change the outcome, do they enhance your proposed solution?

�  Be sure to create a budget, map a timeline, and use research to defend the various modes of transportation of your choosing.

By Participating in this Case Competition, you will:

�  Build your resume with applicable business skills.

�  Practice leadership skills in a team environment.

�  Develop practical analytical skills by performing outside research on the case.

�  Become better future business professionals through the direct experience of analyzing and making recommendations on real-life strategic issues.

�  Network with company representatives who may be impressed with you and request your resume.

Deadlines �  February 25th – Competition Kickoff

�  Cases have been emailed to teams

�  March 11th – Checkpoint Requirement (by 12pm) �  A general outline of what the team’s final solution will look

like �  3 requested timeslots for the Case Competition on April 3rd �  Email the above to the RUSCA account

�  April 2nd – Cases are due electronically by 11:59pm �  Must be emailed to the RUSCA account

�  April 3rd – Case Competition Day! �  Location and time TBD (we will update you on this

information)
