PROJECT OVERVIEW

THE ICHTHYS LNG PROJECT’S INVOLVEMENT WITH DARWIN OFFICIALLY STARTED IN SEPTEMBER 2008, WHEN OPERATOR INPEX AND THEN SOLE JOINT VENTURE PARTNER TOTAL ANNOUNCED THE NORTHERN TERRITORY AS THE PREFERRED HOME FOR ITS ONSHORE PROCESSING FACILITIES.

ICHTHYS LNG ONSHORE FACILITIES - ELE-01

Rusca Bros started the cable terminations at various buildings on the ELE-1 package at the Ichthys Projects in April 2015. Once various modules have been placed in their final position, Rusca Bros excavate the material below the buildings to expose the electrical and instrumentation cables. Initially conventional mechanical excavation is utilised and once within close proximity of the cables a series of electric conveyors and manual excavation are used to excavate the remaining sand.

The works on this site are extremely labour intensive as much of the work is located under buildings creating very restricted work access. Rusca Bros have enforced a very specific health and safety management plan for this site including specialized employee training in the following areas- Hydration, sleep & fatigue management, exercise and stretching.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

ABM IS AN EXPLORATION COMPANY DEVELOPING SEVERAL GOLD DISCOVERIES IN THE CENTRAL DESERT REGION OF THE NORTHERN TERRITORY OF AUSTRALIA.

COYOTE MINE SITE - TANAMI DESERT

After being awarded a 12 month- schedule of rates contract with ABM, Rusca Bros now have 5 trucks, 1 grader and 1 roller on the Coyote Gold Mine Site in the Tanami Desert. This remote site is located 800km North West of Alice Springs and sits 18km inside of the Western Australian Border which has created challenges such as shortage of water for road construction and logistics for machine parts, all of which are overcome with forward thinking and advanced planning.

The environmentally sensitive area is home to a rare nocturnal species of Bilby which means haulage cannot be conducted at night therefore resulting in a day-shift only operation.

This Mine site is familiar to some of our workers as Rusca Bros were the mining contractor for the Coyote Gold Open Pit Mine in 2007.
