    Dear Parents

It has been a busy week with Reception Class out and about in Tower Hamlets examining mini-beasts and a succession of strong candidates trialling lessons in our Year 1 and 2+ classes. Its ashame the St Georges Day cake sale had a poor turnout, but thanks to our three bakers andcustomers for their support. Something tells me its probably time to have a long break beforethe next bake sale!

The good news for Reception Class is that Elsa Tickler, who started with us after Easter ontrial, has secured the Teaching Assistant post and she will start on Monday. She will also, inearly May, be attending training so that she can support the Read, Write, Inc. reading scheme

we use. Jo will continue to work with us as lunchtime assistant, in after school club andcovering swims so Im pleased that she can continue to be a part of our organisation. Thankyou to Jo for stepping in and covering Reception TA duties during this interim period.

Also we have a work placement student in Reception Class Sally Ann. She was a member ofstaff in Rosemary Works Early Years Centre and she will be with us for two days per week forthe remainder of the academic year.

Parents Playground Proclivities After School Punctuality Reminder

We know how difficult it is to collectyour children at pickup time and get home they justdont want to leave! Nevertheless, this makes thingsdifficult for our After School Club team who obviouslyneed to manage their assigned children safely andfairly. By that I mean if you give your child snacks orsweets after school to eat on the premises in front ofAfter School Club children, it has the potential to causebad feeling.

Please refrain from giving your children snacks and

sweets on school premises and be mindful of our AfterSchool Club childrens needs.

I requested in the Newsletter dated 7th

December 2012 that parents ensure their children areat school in good time to start lessons at 9:30. Therecontinues to be some cases of lateness and it isimperative that children arrive to school no later than9:30 (with the exception of Nursery Class). Also, theyare in the final term of school and know the routineswell, so please leave at 9:30 as it can be disruptive andunsettling; teachers need to start registration at 9:30sharp and start lessons immediately after. Many thanks

    in advance.

Reception Class Trip Minibeasts at the Soanes Centre Enrichment Time on the Canal

On Tuesday, the children in Reception Class took atrip to the Soanes Centre in Tower Hamlets tolearn all about mini-beasts by getting up close andpersonal with some of the bugs there. As you cansee by the slideshow on the blog, they had plentyof things to investigate using their magnifyingglasses and still managed to stomach their packedlunches! They did us proud as they were soexcellent at the centre, and what a lovely, sunnyday to go too!

and yesterday a group with Dorothy forenrichment time went to the Regents Canaljust outside the school to undertake a tallychart of all the wildlife they could spot onroute. They also experienced the lock openingand thoroughly enjoyed the warm, springweather. Press here to see a slide show.
