    Nominal Planning

Coverage design thresholds: Adopt thresholds based on link budget calculations

Traffic: Use Asset for planning traffic distribution

Database:Accurate site database and regular program site auditsto maintain database integrity

Site templates:RF engineers of Network Planning Dept. have created aseries of standard site templates in Asset for use innominal planning

    Site Surveys

Site survey Process:1. RF Planners survey all nominal sites

    2. RF Planners adjust the nominal plan

    Data fill & Frequency Planning

RF Engineers of Network Planning use theinformation to plan BSS parameters (newsites & neighbour sites):

    RADIO NETWORK OPTIMISATION PROCESS

Aims of This Presentation Overview of current rollout processes

KPIs and KPIs threshold are used

Radio Network Optimisation is a continuousprocess to improve the existing service qualityand provide additional capacity and coveragebased on demand Identification and rectification of performance affecting

problems, within the constraints of existing networkinfrastructure

Changes to network design to allow for growth

CTP Analysis OMC carries out a detail analysis of that customers calls using

    Call Trace Product.

Results from CTP analysis are used for

The initiation of site hardware check for the problem sites.

Network Problems Identification and Rectification Process

Drive Test and KPI Monitoring of Problem Areas/Sites:

After carrying out a proper hardware check

KPIs are monitored again to see if the issue has been resolved or not

If the problem still exists, then a thorough drive test of the problemarea and sites is planned and conducted by Network Planning Team

    Problem Resolving

Decides whether the problem is due to a neighbour issue or a changein antenna tilt and azimuth is required (based on drive test resultsand KPI values)

Changes in frequency are considered if the problem does not appearto be due to a neighbour or antenna issue. The Planning Team

    determines the new frequencies.

    Network Statistics taken by OMC:

Focus on traffic and control channel statistics:

    Call Volume

    SDCCH Blocking Rate

    Network Growth Plan Process

Blocking/ congestion on sites Analyse the daily traffic statistics for each site from 8am to 10

am and 5pm to 7pm everyday

Sites having TCH blocking rate equal or greater then 10% aremarked

Based on the statistics, sites existing configuration, availablehardware etc, a decision is taken:

    TRX, TRE addition (Motorola, Alcatel,..)

New Site Share the traffic by available neighbour cells (no available

    equipment)
