LEADERSHIP IN ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE
LEADERSHIP
RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY
ALMIGHTY ALLAAH (A.W.)
SKILL
QUR-AAN 2:30 ALLAAH (a.w.) said; “ … Verily, I am going to place (mankind-vicegerent) generations after generations on earth.”
QUR-AAN 35:39 ALLAAH (a.w.) said; “ HE it is WHO has made you successors generations after generations in the
earth….”
Reports from the Prophet of Mankind, Muhammad (s.a.w.)“Verily, the leader among you is the vicegerent of Allaah (a.w.) on that community; he shall protect the rights of the wronged among the populace. If the leader judges justly he will received the reward of Allaah (a.w.) and the people should be grateful for it…” Reported by Al-Baihaqi
THE PROPHET (S.A.W.) ALSO SAID; “Everyone of you is a protector and guardian of his
immediate charge and is responsible for the actions of those people who are committed to his charge. A ruler (leader) is also a steward and is accountable for those who are put under his charge. A man is a steward in respect to the family members of his house. A woman is a stewart in respect to her husband’s house and his children. In short, everyone of you is steward and is accountable for those who are placed under your care.”
