(born 1939 - Barcelona, Spain ) fused the Classical syntax of architecture with modern building technology .

• He studied at the School of Architecture

in Geneva, Switzerland. In 1963.

• He founded a group formed by architects, engineers, sociologists and philosophers, creating the basis for what today is the ‘Taller de Arquitectura’, an international team with over 40 years experience in urban design, architecture, parks and gardens designs, and interior design.

• About Bofill

Page 3: ricardo_bofill

Bofill first gained international attention in the 1960s with two designs executed in the Catalan region of Spain, where the expressive works of Antonio Gaudi have played a major role.

• The Barrio Gaudi (1964-1968).

• XANADÚ. APARTMENTS IN CALPE, Alicante (1969-1983).

Both the barrio and Xanadu display Bofill's continuing interest in creating "garden cities in space."
