Challenges to be Addressed by ISI– Design and deploy hybrid terrestrial/satellite systems to reduce transmission costs,

and increase efficiency and flexibility– Increase the spectrum and power efficiency of satellite systems by at least an order

of magnitude with respect to the state-of-the-art– Enable the exploitation of higher frequency bands (Ka and above)– Align the form factor and power consumption of user terminals to those of terrestrial
