As a result, and early name for the handicap was often called Daltonism In 1837, August Seebeck color vision tests and found two different types of red-green color blindness with differences in severity from weak to strong Slide 7 Treatment & Prevention There is no known treatment. Wearing colored contact lenses may help you see differences between colors, however these lenses don't provide normal color vision and can distort objects. Inherited color blindness cannot be prevented. Many can not tell the difference between green and ripe tomatoes or between ketchup and chocolate syrup. Many red-green color blind people cannot tell whether a woman is wearing lipstick or not.
