Question 3- What have you learned from your audience

feedback?Digipak

Page 2: Question 3- Digipak

Why did I conduct audience feedback?• As with the music video, audience feedback is a valuable way to receive

non bias feedback on products and so I can gain an accurate representation on the quality of my digipak. This time, I surveyed my peers using Survey Monkey. This was a really useful way to analyse the audience's opinions on my digipak because I was able to view the statistics really easily.

• I asked 8 questions using both quantitative and qualitative questions. Using quantitative data allowed me to analyse figures, whilst the quantitative data allowed me to look at individual opinions and if they differentiated at all.

The Digipak

Question 1: Do you think the digipak links to the theme of the music video?

• Here my 100% of my audience said yes. • This is promising because having

products linking to one another is effective due to synergy and this is also effective marketing because if one product relates to another, people are more likely to be interested in viewing/buying the other product. • I aimed to have clear links between the digipak

and music video by using techniques such as using black and white images and also coloured images on the digipak to reflect the black and white and colour elements in my music video.

Question 2: Do you think that the front cover is effective and works as an album cover?• Again, 100% of the audience questioned said

yes. • This is promising because the front cover is

essentially the element that draws the audience to a product, if they like the cover then they are more likely to pick it up and look at the song titles or be drawn to the artist. • I used typical conventions of a front cover such

as direct address and using the performer from the music video, so I would agree that my front cover does work well as an album cover.

Question 3: Do you feel the images fit together as a whole digipak?

• 100% of my participants said yes. • This is good because I was worried that having the

front and back cover in colour and the inside images in black and white wouldn't appeal to the audience, however I think that this again reflects the music video nicely as well as the coloured covers acting as a shell for the inside black and white images.• If the digipak fits together then the audience are

more likely to think that the product is of high quality and are therefore more likely to purchase the product.

Question 4: Do you like how there is a mix of black and white and colour images?

• 88.89% of people asked said yes whilst only 11.11% said no. • This is completely down to personal

preference because having a mix of colours isn't for everyone, however I personally think that this reflects the music video well and so there is a strong link between my products, which I believe is essential if a product is to be marketed successfully. • I wouldn't change the middle slides to colour

as I think the effect would be lost.

Question 5: Do you think the text is the correct size on the front and back covers? Please explain your reasons• All my participants said yes for this question. • One person said 'Yes, it is eye-catching and

easy to read' whilst another said 'Yeah, the size is good because it frames the image'. This is really important because as the designer of the product, it should be made as easy as possible for the audience to read the song titles or see the title of the album. • If it looks cluttered, the audience are less

likely to want to purchase it.

Question 6: Do you think the cut outs of Nathan look good against a white background?• Here 88.89% of my participants said

that they liked the cut outs of Nathan against the white background.• I did this element of the inside of the

digipak because I wanted to add variety to my product. • 11.11% said they didn't like this

element, so perhaps they would have preferred to have had more of a consistent layout which I can understand.

Question 7: Do you think the fonts on the front and back cover are effective?• Again, 88.89% said that the fonts on

the front and back cover were effective. • I think that the fonts work well, as

they tie in both the music video and magazine adverts as the same fonts are used throughout. • Only 11.11% said that they didn't

like the fonts but again, this is down to personal preference.
