Throughout this project me and my media group used many different media products & technologies to present our research, planning, construction and evaluation for our advanced portfolio. These include such media technologies like Photoshop, thing link, prize, Pinterset and many other media software types as well as some media hardware's including the different equipment we used to film our trailer.

Research

Q4: How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Analysing different Trailer, Magazine covers and Film posters

As first initial research for our project, we all decided to watch some and research different original media texts to give us inspiration. We analyzed a series of different coming of age film trailers, movie posters and magazine covers.

I used blogger to post some of my initial research as well as write and analyse different original media texts

I used slide share to post my ‘this is England analysis’ that I originally made on PowerPoint and then uploaded to slide share. Slide share allows a PowerPoint presentation to be viewed online after embedding it.

I used thing link to analyse the ‘little white lies, this is England’ magazine cover. Thing link work by making small points on a photo or video allowing the interpreter to however over certain parts that let a paragraph of text appear showing my analysis of each part I used prezi for my ‘this is England film analysis’ this

allowed me to show and explain each part of the poster individually.

Research

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Further research into the theme, genre and style of real media texts for inspiration

I also underwent some further research into the theme, genre and style of other real media texts to link with our films ‘coming of age’ genre and the theme of our film being about a protagonist dealing with multiple personality disorder.

I used Youtube as a research tool by watching different videos and trailers for inspiration and ideas. I used it espliaily for learning the visual comedy techniques of director Edgar wright

I made a pinterest page and collected different photographs, videos and gifs that inspired me and linked to our theme and genre giving us inspiration towards our film poster and magazine cover

Planning

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

During the planning stages of this project we used a range of different media technologies to plan for our final outcomes.

We had many different decisions about our coursework both face to face and using different communication medias. We also noted down a lot of our ideas on paper and scanned in our evidence

I used blogger to post some of our initial ideas for our trailer as well as rough doodles and ideas for our portfolio

To communicate and talk about our ideas between lessons we used whatsapp and different email websites to send links, work and ideas to each other

We used two different cameras for our production of our trailer. We prodomently used the 70d as it had a flip out monitor as well as having better picture quality compared to the 1100d which we used for close ups and pull focus shots

As well as video cameras we also used tripod and tracks throughout the production. We used the tracks in many different scenes to give our trailer a sense of depth and to make still establishing shots more interesting and enticing for the audience.

Construction

Throughout construction of our coursework we used a wide range of different hardware's and software's to help make our final outcomes

A u d i o r e c o r d i n g L i g h t i n g

We used an audio recorder at many different stages of our production. Including the recording of background sound for some scenes as well as small sound effect parts such as when Mya is typing/hacking into the computer and also recording Razias voice over for the trailer.

We used a range of different lights and lighting techniques during production including a small box light that fits ontop of the camera as well as using the drama room facilities and using the different coloured lights and filters they have

Construction

Throughout construction of our coursework we used a wide range of different hardware's and software's to help make our final outcomes

I M O V I E A D O B E P R E M I E R We edited the large majority of our trailer on iMovie using different cutting, cropping, speeding up and using different titles over video as well as making the slates between each sequence

We also used adobe premier to edit and splice a range of different clips together allowing three different shots of Mya to be in one frame. We also made our titles for our film on adobe premier too

At the end of the advanced portfolio we where asked to evaluate each part of our advanced portfolio

For my evaluation I used a white range of different media technologies to present my work such as:

For question 1 I used Piktochart to display my evaluation. Piktochart is a great and easy to use tool that allows the user to use different graphics and design styles to display and interact with the work/information

For question 2 I made a vendiagram on prezi which compared all three of the media products we had to make and shows how each one links with each other

For question 3 I wrote up my evaluation of the audience feedback and added different links and photos onto the post

For question 4 (this question) I made a slide share document by originally making a PowerPoint document and then uploading and embedding it onto slide share
