INTRODUCTIONI. I got baptized March 2014 at Fall Creek Christian Church in
Pendleton, IN. It took me awhile to figure out what I wanted the
Lord to do with my life and with me. I have recently learned to
rely on Him and he will help me through any troubles I occur.
II. I am sure there are some of us that trust in the Lord or
something meaningful and rely on him or it to release any stress
or emotions we are feeling at that point.
III. This quote, “Blessed are those who trust in the Lord,” is very
meaningful to me because I can relate to it personally,
educationally and in my everyday life.

BODYI. Everyday, I either stress myself out to the max or I just want to
cry because nothing is going right.
A. I know in my life I have dealt with some hardships and the
way I got through them was trusting in the Lord. He helps

me realize there are more positive things in this world then
negative ones.
B. As of right now, I am trusting in Him and praying to Him
that He will lead me in the right direction with college,
figuring out my major and helping me have a smooth
transition from high school to college.
Transition (Not only is the Lord impacting my personal life, He is helping me with my education.)

II. I was ranked 34 out of 343 students in my senior class at
Pendleton Heights High School. I graduated with Academic
Honors while being in WEEM, my school’s radio station,
National Honor Society, BETA and Spanish Honor Society.
A. There is no way I could have handled all that on my platter
without having help. It was up to me to rely on the Lord for
comfort and strength in order to get through all the obstacles
I faced during my secondary schooling.
B. He has already helped me tremendously with my post-
secondary schooling by being by my side with choosing a
college, deciding what I want to major in and just staying
calm through this whole transition. I am just going to keep
praying and asking Him for guidance about my time at
IUPUI.
Transition (The Lord will continuously help me with my education but also, in my every day-to-day life.)
Main Point III. Everyone has obstacles we have to face because if we did not

life would become boring and we would not be able to grow as
a person.
A. Every night before I go to bed, I try to praise him but also
ask him to help guide my friends, family and strangers to get
through any rough patches that they stumble upon.
B. Right now, I just keep asking him to get me through the day
and be as positive as I can be. Also, I ask him to help me be
more relaxed and just let me think about one thing at a time.

Final Appeal
CONCLUSIONI. This quote from Jeremiah in verse 17, line 7, “Blessed are those
who trust in the Lord,” has helped me tremendously in my
personal life, in my education and just in my every day life.
II. If anyone needs help with anything, I am here for you. I am
working on becoming a more positive person and opening my
eyes to the different ideas there are in this world we live in.
