• A Boeing predecessor is one of the companies thatleased the land in the 1950s-1960s and utilized it formanufacturing aerospace components resulting in therelease of chemicals to soil & groundwater

• Boeing voluntarily partners with the Regional WaterQuality Control Board (Water Board) on cleanup

• Boeing purchased the site in 2001 to facilitate cleanup andbeneficial-reuse redevelopment; Sold the site in 2005

• 2009: Water Board approved groundwater treatment plan

• 2011 - 2012: Groundwater treatment system installed andoperating at the Boeing Former Compton Site

• 2007 - 2008: MTA granted Boeing a Right-of-Entry (ROE)permit to install and monitor two groundwater wells

• 2010 - Present: On-going discussions between MTA andBoeing regarding system design and construction

• 2011: SCE and Metropolitan Water District granted pipelineeasements that cross existing Artesia Station easements

• 2012: Boeing obtained ROE from MTA and will begindesign studies for treatment system
