DONOR packed RBCs ; RECIPIENT serum or plasma.Further material required : Centrifuge with swinging bucket ; micropipette ; 2 test tubes.

1 rack for gel tests

Blood sample specification : • EDTA / ACD / CPD / Plain tube• Do not use Heparin

Centrifuge the gel test for 2 minutes at 1000g (if you are using «RPM» unit, please contact us), without dissociating the gel test tube from the gel test support. DO NOT FORGET TO ADD A BALANCE.

N°3 : RBCs suspension preparation

Drop gently the suspension on the top of the gel without touching the gel with the pipette and close it before centrifugation.

Collect and transfer 25µl of RECIPIENTplasma or serum intothe second test tube.

3 Mix gently 10 seconds & incubate 10 minutes at room temperature.

Collect and transfer 40µl ofincubated suspension into the gel test.

Centrifuge at 200g :

N°4 : Major XM Gel test procedure

Open the cap.

Collect 10µl ofDONOR pRBCs.(or Donor’s blood bag segment.)

Take the second test tube

Collect and transfer 50µl of RBCssuspension into the second test tube.

Add the 10 µl of DONOR pRBCs into the first test tube and mix gently. Use immediately the RBCs suspension.

Add 20 drops (or 1ml) of buffer solution into the first test tube.

Identify the gel test.
