SOMEFLU is specialized for more than 40 years in the design and the construction of corrosion resistant centrifugal pumps. The horizontal or vertical pumps made of stainless steel or plastic materials are intended for the pumping of all types of chemical liquids (corrosives, clear, slightly or much loaded with suspended matters). The flow rate goes from 1 to 1,500 m3/h, with discharge heads from 5 to 110 meters, obtained with rotating speeds of 1,450 and 2,900 min-1.

The works of SOMEFLU are located near to Paris on an area of 10,000 m². The most recent rules of environmental protection and of safety are respected.

The department APLAST located in « Savoy » is specialized in moulding of high performance plastic materials intended for the manufacturing of machined parts. Its customers encounters principally in the activities of high technology (electronics, aeronautics, armaments...). APLAST collaborates very closely with the pump department of SOMEFLU.

CONSTRUCTION DETAILS

Machining of impeller made of SOMEDUR

MATERIALS

The hydraulic part is entirely made of thick-walled plastic material. There is no metallic part in contact with the pumped liquid. As a function of the fluids we propose the following materials : SOMEDUR is a material developed by SOMEFLU for special applications with corrosive, charged and abrasive liquids with temperature up to 90° C. On demand other pump types can be realized in SOMEDUR.

CARTRIDGE TYPE MECHANICAL SEAL

A cartridge type mechanical seal developed by SOMEFLU ensures the shaft sealing. This system is independent of the other pump parts and needs no adjustment. Depending on the nature of the fluid the cartridge seal can be executed in the following configurations : q Rinsing out after standstill of the pump for crystallizing or

charged liquids. q Injection of clean liquid during operation for fluids charged

with abrasive matters. If the process allows it is possible to use clear water.

q Filling up with grease of the seal chamber to limit the effects of crystallization if the process does not allow use of water.

q The cartridge can be realized as double-acting seal with external lubrication if the process requires for dangerous or charged fluids.

q Polypropylene PP or PP-EL q Polyethylene PE-HD or PE-EL q PVC q PVDF or PVDF-EL q PTFE q SOMEDUR for abrasive liquids

BLOCK ASSEMBLY RANGE

ECO Horizontal in Plastic GENERALITIES

The centrifugal pumps of the ECO range are intended for the pumping of high corrosive fluids. They are equipped with mechanical seals meeting the requirements of industry and advanced technologies. These pumps complete the HMP range (more than 100.000 pumps in service). q The new hydraulic design guarantees high

performances. q The coupling between pump and motor allows an

easy dismantling even after several years of operation in corrosive ambiance.

q Easy maintenance : identical mechanical seal for the whole range. Fixed positioning without necessity of adjustment.

MATERIALS

All of the hydraulic parts are made of thick-walled plastic materials. Employed materials : Polypropylene PP or PP-EL for ATEX. The mechanical seal is made of massive silicium carbide.

BLOCK ASSEMBLY RANGE

HMI Horizontal STAINLESS STEEL

WITH MECHANICAL SEAL OR MAGNETIC DRIVE

GENERALITIES

The single stage horizontal centrifugal pumps of the HMI range are intended to the pumping of clear or slightly charged corrosive liquids in various industrial applications. They fit also particularly well for the pumping of solvents, heat transfer or cooling liquids with operating temperature from -70° C up to +180° C.

MATERIALS

The whole hydraulic part is realized in machined stainless steel. The castings are made by the method of lost wax casting, which is a guarantee for a high level quality for the use in most difficult service conditions. Accordingly to the fluid we propose the following materials. q STAINLESS STEEL 316 L q STAINLESS STEEL 904 L q HASTELLOY 904 L stainless steel fits particularly for sulfuric acid applications with all concentrations and even in case of high temperature changes.

VERTICAL PUMPS

PLASTIC and STAINLESS STEEL GENERALITIES

Built with the hydraulics of the horizontal block-assembly or normalized pumps. They suit particularly if you will avoid the use of self-priming pumps or leakages due to the shaft sealing system. Pumps are equipped with a coupling (VP, VLP-A, VI, VLI-A…) or not (VCP-M, VLP-M,VCI-M, VLI-M…). Their rotating speed can reach 2900 rpm. CONSTRUCTION ALTERNATES

Vertical with shaft lengths up to 2.000 mm. Vertical with ”CANTILEVER” type bearing up to 1.200 mm. The vertical “CANTILEVER” type pumps are specially intended for the pumping of very abrasive corrosive liquids. Depending on the service conditions they are built as block- assembly type or with a single or double upper bearing. MATERIALS

PLASTICS PRODUCTION

Moulding Departement

GENERALITIES

APLAST is specialized in moulding by compression of high performance plastics. APLAST does not only transform high performance plastics but is also an expert in the realization of far-reaching projects. Once machined, the finished products are destined for high technology areas like electronics, aeronautics or even armament. Our knowledge of plastic materials, acquired during the last 25 years, can guide you in your projects and applications. PRINCIPAL ADVANTAGES

q Our method of manufacturing (extrusion followed by compression) ensures the highest possible quality of the finished parts.

q The last manufacturing operation is a thermal treatment of the moulded parts in order to eliminate residual constraints and to maintain in this way the dimensional stability.

q The made-to-measure manufacturing of parts allows a substantial economy of material and reduces the machining times.

q The investment in raw material for the realization of small pieces is reduced as we cater only for the necessary quantity.
