Oh my it is September already and Christmas is fast approaching donrsquot forget to mark your calendar to attend our Christmas Party on Saturday December 3rd Remember again this year we have several members that have volunteered to decorate a table so it will be fun to see what they have all come up with I have already touched base on most of the important things in my email to everyone a couple of weeks ago but I will repeat some of them We have extended the $9000 price for the Jill Fitzhenry (Jillybean) Seminar So if you havent signed up yet now is your chance to do it for the lower price of $9000 for 2 days Please email Susan Alvarez at salvarez120gmailcom and let her know We have already ordered the wood for the witch but we did order a couple of extrarsquos just in case so if you want to take the class let Susan know Tole Month is October and we need you to bring some of your beautiful cute or just fun items to be displayed at the Oxnard Library the month of October Susan Alvarez has volunteered to set up the display this year for us This is also one of the requirements that SDP has for all chapters so please support your chapter and bring some of your items to display to the September meeting We promise to take good care of them and return them to you at the November meeting If you have checked out woodcutter boxes to paint please bring them to the September meeting We must have them ALL turned in as they must be returned to the woodcutters in September We had a ball talking to everyone that stopped by our demo table at the Ventura County Fair and 4 or 5 of our members won some wonderful ribbons for their entries It was very disappointing that more of our very talent-ed members didnrsquot put entries in this year They have changed some of the entry classes for us so please think about entering something next year

We have only 2 more regular paint-ins for the year Liz is teaching her original design ldquoHappy Holly Daysrdquo on 924 and the wood and prep will be available at the September meeting Carol will be teaching a beautiful Kiev Box on November 19th Be sure to sign up for these great classes taught by 2 of our talented members Requests for project submissions have been sent out and we will be voting on paint-in projects for next year in November so please plan to attend Remember if you donrsquot vote something you really would have liked to paint may not be chosen See you at the meeting September 12th keep cool and paint Karen Lewis

Year End Raffle

As the year keeps ticking away it is time to start thinking and planning what we are going to offer for our

year end raffle Since we concentrated on chairs last year I thought we might need to change it this year

back to beautiful and cute painted items

So I am asking everyone to think about what you have painted

or would like to paint to donate for the raffle

It could be a plate tray box picture or anything for a holiday or even a chair We probably need about 6

items give or take so start thinking and let me know what you can donate to help raise money to keep

your chapter going
