  • Dr, Jeffrey Benson is currently Directorof Choral Activities at San Jose StateUniversity in San Jose, California. TheWashington Post hails his choirs forsinging "with an exquisite blend,subtlety of phrasing, confidentmusicianship and fully supportedtone ...that would be the envy of someprofessional ensembles."

    Dr. Benson recently made hisinternational conducting debut withthe Irish Chamber Orchestra and theSJSUChoraliers in Limerick, Ireland,and he made his Carnegie Hallconducting debut in 2015 with theSJSUChoirs and the New York FestivalOrchestra. Choirs under his direction have been invited to perform withthe Rolling Stones, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, the Los Angeles FestivalOrchestra and the Skywalker Orchestra.

    Dr. Benson is a published composer and arranger with Colla Voce Musicand Santa Barbara Music Publishing, under the Charlene ArchibequeChoral Series. He is also the Artistic Director of Peninsula Cantare, acommunity chorus based in Palo Alto.

    Dr. Benson is an active member of the National Association for MusicEducation, the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA),and theNational Collegiate Choral Organization, where he currently serves asCalifornia National Board Representative. ACDArecognized Benson withthe first annual Colleen Kirk Award for his outstanding achievement as ayoung conductor.

    Dr. Benson received his Masters degree and his Doctorate in ChoralConducting/Music Education from The Florida State University and hisBachelors degree in Music Education from New York University.

    Miles Kaludzinski, boy sopranoA native of Burlingame, California, Miles joined theRagazzi Boys Chorus at age seven when heworked up the courage to audition after watching aboys choir perform at Stanford's Bing auditorium.Miles has toured with Ragazzi in Arizona and sungat various other concerts and performances sincejoining Ragazzi, including San Francisco'sSymphony Hall. His musical training began on thepiano prior to joining Ragazzi, and he has sinceadded the tenor saxophone to his musicalrepertoire. In his spare time, Miles likes to swim,

    read, hike, and shoot some hoops with his friends.

    Amanda Ku, pianoAmanda Ku is an active freelance accompanistand theatre musician in her native SanFrancisco Bay Area. Having grown up singing inchoirs, Ms. Ku discovered her passion foraccompanying during high school and hasnurtured it ever since. She currently serves as astaff accompanist for Cantabile Youth Singers,a Los Altos-based children's chorus under theartistic direction of Elena Sharkova. Ms. Kualso recently accompanied the 2018 CaliforniaAll-State Junior High Honor Choir under theguest direction of Dr. Anthony Trecek-King. She

    is delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with Dr. Jeffrey Bensonthis spring, both at San Jose State University and Peninsula Cantare.In addition to choral accompanying, Ms. Ku is regularly in demand as anaudition and rehearsal pianist for musical theatre, and can been heardplaying keyboard in pit orchestras across the South Bay and Peninsula,including with Palo Alto Players, Broadway By the Bay, Hillbarn Theatre,West Valley Light Opera, and Children's Musical Theatre of San Jose. As amusic director, her most recent productions include Peter and theStarcatcher (Hillbarn) and Bullets Over Broadway (WVLO).Ms. Ku holds aBachelor's degree in Environmental Systems from University ofCalifornia, San Diego.

  • Danielle Marie, soprano

    Danielle is an emerging young artist in theSouth Bay Area. Nothing is more fulfilling toDanielle than singing oratorio and sacredworks. She recently received her Masters inVoice Performance at San Jose StateUniversity, studying under Professor LaynaChianakas. Prior voice instructors includeSandra Bengochea, Dr. Nicole Baker, andMary Scheibe. In June of 2016, Daniellemade her international debut in Ireland asthe soprano soloist for Haydn's Lord NelsonMass at the Limerick Sings festival under the

    baton of Dr. Jeffrey Benson. In May of the same year Danielle wasprivileged to sing the soprano solo in one of her favorite major works,Brahms' Requiem, in Mission Santa Clara de Asis under the baton of Dr.Benson. Danielle also performed a principal role, Lady with a Cake Box,in Dominick Argento's "Postcard from Morocco." Danielle's other recentperformances include the leading role of Eurydice in San Jose StateOpera Theater's production of Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworldconducted by Michael Digiacinto and directed by Layna Chianakas, thesoprano soloist in Mozart's Requiem directed by Michael Digiacinto andDr. Jeffrey Benson, Michaela in an encore performance with San JoseChamber Orchestra conducted by Maestra Barbara Day Turner, and theNational Anthem vocalist for a federal government ribbon cuttingceremony at the City of San Jose. Performing as lead soprano with theMistletoe Singers around the Bay Area is Danielle's favorite winterpastime. Danielle also enjoys performing with First Street Opera at theirOpera Night with Caffe Frascati and the Rock Bar in San Jose, CA.Danielle spent three years as the soprano soloist, cantor, and sectionleader at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Yorba Linda, CA underthe direction of Joseph Bazyouros and Mark Haas. Currently Danielle isthe soprano soloist and section leader at the Presbyterian Church of LosGatos, under the direction of Michael Taylor. This is Danielle's secondseason as the soprano section leader and soloist with Peninsula Cantareand looks forward to the busy and exciting season ahead.
