Janice GundersonJanice Gunderson was named Director of Peninsula Cantare in Jan-uary 1997. Janice has enjoyed a richly varied musical life in the BayArea working as a professional accompanist, choral director and teacher.From 1985 to 1997 she served as Assistant Conductor for the Master-works Chorale under Galen Marshall. She has been a Choir Director andOrganist at the First Baptist Church of San Carlos, coach and accom-panist at the College of Notre Dame, and is currently staff accompanistat Caiiada College. She has participated in the Festival of Masses withRobert Shaw and the Cabrillo Music Festival with Dennis Russell Davies.Janice studied at Lewis & Clark College and holds a Bachelor of Mu-sic degree from the University of Oregon with continuing studies at CalState Hayward and San Jose State. Her professional affiliations includethe Music Teachers Association of California and the American ChoralDirectors Association. Janice also directs the Peninsula Choraliers, awomans ensemble. This summer Janice will be a guest conductor in theSchola Cantorum Summer Sings.

Jeanette Sacco-BelliJeanette Sacco-Belli is a coloratura soprano who holds a Master of Musicin voice performance, as well as Bachelor's Degrees in both voice perfor-mance and music education. She is a faculty member at Canada Collegewhere she presently teaches voice classes and conducts the women's cho-rus. She is also a 'voice instructor at the College of Notre Dame andthe Crestmont Conservatory. Mrs. Sacco-Belli has performed numeroustimes in the Bay Area, singing opera, liturgical music, and recital work.She is a member of the National Association of Teachers for Singing andthe Music Teachers Association.

Peninsula Cantare continues to make an important contribution to choral musicin the Bay Area. Founded in 1970 and sponsored by Cafiada College, the choirdraws its auditioned members from throughout the Peninsula. In music fromthe Renaissance to the Twentieth Century, from a capella literature to majorworks for choir and orchestra, Cantare has established itself as a choir that singswith musicality and excitement. In April, Cantare was featured in RedwoodSymphony's concert performance of "Porgy and Bess."
