The special ledger from the SAP Financial Accounting (SAP FI) is a subledger on the basis of G/L accounts which comprises vendor, customer, and asset accounting. Using the PBS archive add on CSL you can quickly and easily access your archived SL data even after data archiving during your day-to-day business. Archived SL line items and SL totals records are displayed at the same time with the current data from the SAP database. You are able to display all data of the PBS archive add on CSL using the standard online transactions. You can execute the transactions easily via two PBS menus that are supplied. Indexing Concept The PBS archive add on CSL sets up indices for archived SL line items and SL totals records and saves them in a PBS-specific file. It contains programs that can be used to read the corresponding data from archive and database at the same time. For this, you have to regenerate these programs after having created a ledger. Integration You can integrate the programs into the report interface which enables you to access line items via drilldown from a totals report that was created using the Report Pain- ter. The line item list contains all SL line items from archive and database that belong to the totals record. You can convert totals reports that were created with the Report Painter. Thus, you can read totals records from the database and/or archive. • The special ledger from the SAP Financial Accounting (SAP FI) is a subledger on the basis of G/L accounts which comprises vendor, customer, and asset accounting.

    Indexing Concept

The PBS archive add on CSL sets up indices for archived SL line items and SL totals records and saves them in a PBS-specific file. It contains programs that can be used to read the corresponding data from archive and database at the same time. For this, you have to regenerate these programs after having created a ledger.

    Integration

You can integrate the programs into the report interface which enables you to access line items via drilldown from a totals report that was created using the Report Pain-ter. The line item list contains all SL line items from archive and database that belong to the totals record.

You can convert totals reports that were created with the Report Painter. Thus, you can read totals records from the database and/or archive.

    Technical Data

System Requirements SAP R/3 3.x, 4.x and SAP ERP 5.0/6.0.

Archiving Objects In order to use the PBS archive add on CSL, SAP data archiving must have been performed cor-rectly for the archiving object listed below:

    SAP Archiving Object Description

FI_SL_DATA FI-SL: Totals and line items

Transactions You can display the archive and database data both online as well as in the background. Both types of data can be displayed together. In order to differentiate, the symbol * is used to indicate the archive data.

    PBS Transaction SAP Transaction Description

    /PBS/GD02 GD02 Document search

    /PBS/GD13 GD13 Display totals

    /PBS/GD20 GD20 Document search (from SAP R/3 4.5)

    /PBS/GD23 GD23 Display local documents

    /PBS/GD33 GD33 Display global documents

    /PBS/GD43 GD43 Display local document

    /PBS/GD44 GD44 Display global document

Disk Space Requirement The main index data part of the PBS archive add on CSL is contained in the SAP file system of the database or an application server. In order to store the complete index data for an archived FI-SL line item, about 200 bytes are required. An additional 5 bytes per document for management information which is kept in the SAP database must also be reckoned.

Previous Knowledge SAP experience is a prerequisite. Since the PBS transactions are identical to the SAP standard transactions, no user training is necessary.

Delivery The delivery comprises the software in German, English and French and a user manual in German and English.

Installation Installation is performed using SAP Transport Management. The PBS software is transferred via ftp to the SAP server and then installed. Up to SAP R/3 4.6C, the transport program tp is used. From Release 4.7, the installation is performed with the transactions SAINT and SPAM.
