Limits” show – their support continues to help promote ski racing in the public eye. We have had good feedback on the coverage and viewership of the COP Alpine Insurance FIS slaloms. Shaw hopes to repeat and expand their coverage for next season.

member clubs typical purview
Provide training opportunities that are more economical than those
accessible by individual member clubs
Provide unique and high quality environments/equipment/development
opportunities that are not typically available to member clubs

Alberta Shines at NCCA
Championships
Erik Read won the men’s NCAA individual slalom and
overall title as his Denver University went on to win the
overall skiing championship. Erik is a former Banff Alpine
Racer and Alberta Ski Team athlete. He also earned 3rd
place in the GS race.
Five additional former Alberta ski team athletes competed in
the championship races:
• Kevyn Read (Dartmouth) was 16th, 13th in GS
• Rob Greig (University of New Mexico) 20th, 10th in GS
• Sean Alexander (University of Alaska) 25th, 6th in GS
• Curtis McKillop (University of Alaska) 27th, 25th in GS
• Jocelyn McCarthy (Montana State) 10th, 30th in GS
Alberta Alpine is now launching the University Training Group program which supports our post-grad athletes by providing extended on and off snow training opportunities complementing their
school program and their continued advancement as world class skiers.

A $90,000 grant from the Calgary
Parks Foundation, Calgary Flames and the Saddledome Foundation was obtained to acquire much needed infrastructure; replacement or enhancement of training and competition venues which will directly benefit over 2500 residents of Calgary and all of Alberta during the next 2 years.
