We offer Photostreaming within Mobile Care Monitoring as a simple and easy way to communicate

images from handheld devices to the MCM care system. Photostreaming allows images to be shared

in various ways. Residents’ now have personal folders in which they can keep their personal

photographs and a folder in which they can share these images via the Relatives Gateway Portal. Staff

are able to share photographs of residents’ throughout the day, putting family members’ minds at

ease.

Photosharing allows easy documentation of wound care and treatments whilst simultaneously

allowing staff to document images they feel are important to safe and stored folder.

Photosharing allows images to be shared and stored on MCM as a means of visually evidencing care

between managers and staff. This simple and easy method allows for peace of mind when

management are working off the premises. Each photo uploaded stated the time it was taken and

which staff member took it.

This document will explain everything about MCM Photosharing. The instructions below will take

you through the simple process of getting started. This manual will show you how to use photo

sharing on both IPods and IPads

The benefits of Photo sharing.

You are now able to take photographs of residents, wounds and social events on your devices and

upload them to MCM wirelessly. This is a time saving method This document will take you through

the process of taking a photo and allocating it to either: a profile photo, social album, private album

or wound care. If your organisation is not enabled for the relative’s gateway the social and private

albums are of no use to you.

Taking a photo on the IPod to upload as a profile picture

1. Take a photograph of a resident by clicking on the camera icon tab.

2. Your camera will then turn on and you will be able to take a photograph.

3. Once you have taken the photo click the ‘Use photo option’. This will send the photo to your

MCM computer system.

4. Open up your MCM icon on your computer and select the name of your community, i.e.)

Dorking Residential Care Home. You should not see any residents or staff members on this

page. You will see your blue tiles and 3 tabs at the top which say: People, New Pictures and

Stored Pictures. Click on New Pictures.

You will then see the photograph you have just taken, along with any others you have taken using

the new iPod camera button. Please be aware that images may take some time to upload pictures

from the device, and that pictures are taken at 2 megapixels’ resolution to save upload

bandwidth.

5. Click on the grey box to choose where you would like to upload the photo to.

6. To create a profile photo for your resident, go to Make Profile Photo and then click on the

name of the resident.

Photosharing on IPad.

1. You can either take photos on your IPad using the camera function and saving them to a file

or you can take a photo via MCM. To upload a photo using the new Photosharing function,

simply click on the resident you wish and click on the change button, underneath the blank

or existing profile picture.

2. You then have the option of choosing an existing file from your IPad or taking a new photo.

3. To take a new photo click

on the camera picture in

the yellow box and

select use photo. To find an

already existing photo

stored on the IPad click on

icon shown in the red

circle. This will direct

you to your stored pictures on the IPad.

Photosharing and the Relatives Gateway

Using MCM’s Photosharing tool makes uploading images simple and user friendly. Carers are able

to take photographs on both iPods and IPads (shown on pages 2/3) and upload these images via

the social network of the Relatives gateway.

If you are using a device with a camera such as a tablet or phone then selecting the Camera icon will

enable a new photo to be taken, otherwise selecting the Picture icon will allow a photo that already

exists to be used. Adding a description to the photo enables everyone to know what the photo

relates to.

To send into the Relatives Gateway press the “Upload photo” button and you will be presented with

this:

You can select a photo you have already saved on the iPad, by clicking on the symbol in the blue

circle. This will give you the option of choosing an image from your gallery. Alternatively, you can

take a photo directly from your iPad. Once you have selected your image, and press ‘Save &

Upload’.

If you have taken the image on your iPod, you can find the image on MCM by retracing the steps on

page 2.

You will then be greeted with the options of:

To upload the photo to the Relatives Gateway click on ‘Save to social Album’. This will allow the

image to be seen and commented on by the relative who has access.

‘Save to Private Album’ explained:

Saving an image to the residents’ private album, is a feature which allows the residents to have their

own gallery which cannot be accessed by relatives. This allows the resident to have their own

selection of personal images.

‘Save to this location’ explained.

This feature allows images that have been taken by staff to be stored onto the MCM portal, allowing

managers who are not on the premises to have visual reports and updates throughout the day. To

store an image in Save to this location:

• Go to New Pictures

• Choose your image

• Click on the small grey box

• Choose ‘Save to this location’

For a manager to access these images, go to ‘Stored Pictures’.

‘New Pictures’ explained.

All of the photographs using the handheld iPods or the photographs taken using MCM on the IPad

will automatically be uploaded into the New Pictures Folder. Please note that images shared

using Photostreaming will only be stored for 30 days. To store your image permanently

you must assign them to a location: i.e., Personal Album, Private Album, Stored Pictures.

Photosharing: Wound Care and Body Map.

Uploading images to evidence wounds and treatments is an easy process using MCM

Photostreaming.

To evidence a wound or injury for a resident, click on their photo to open up their file, and open

their body map icon. Once you have filled in the wound information you can add your photo by click

on the camera icon.

You will then be presented with this screen:

You can either use a stored image from you iPod or computer by clicking on the icon in the blue

circle, or you can take a photo on an Ipas and upload straight away.

For ease and convenience carers can also evidence wounds using their iPod’s.

Take a photo of the wound by clicking on the camera on the home screen.

• Once you have taken the photo click ‘Use Photo’.

• Open body map on MCM.

1. Click ‘Add Picture’

2. Choose image from photo stream and click on the grey icon on the left to upload it

3. Add a small care note or description of the image

4. Press ‘Save’.

5. You can delete wound images that you do not need by clicking on the red cross at the top

right hand corner.
