“Or who has given the Lord anything that he may be repaid?”
- Romans 11:35
A Message from Seminarian Ryan Black It is hard to believe that I arrived in Minnesota four weeks ago and that I am now beginning to pack my bags to return to Scotland. I have had an incredible experience in the States, in Edina, Delano and especially here in Mound. I cannot thank you all enough for your hospitality and kindness. That being said, you might live to regret it as I do hope to return one day! A special word of thanks must go to Fr. Tony who kindly agreed to host a seminarian he had never met before. He has made me feel at home here, which is not always an easy thing to do. I will return home to Scotland for two weeks before I return once more to Rome for the beginning of my fifth academic year in the Eternal City. Please keep me in your prayers as I continue on this vocational journey towards Christ’s priest-hood, which I am sure He is calling me to. Seminarian Ryan Black, Diocese of Paisley, Scotland

West Suburban Grief Coalition Meets at Trinity Lutheran Church 2060 Seventh Avenue North (County Road 6) Long Lake • 952.473.8577 The group meets on Thursdays from 4:30 - 6:00pm. Aug. 31st: Small Group Sharing Did you know that OLL has an Email & Phone Prayer Chain? Parishioners are invited to call the Parish Office to request prayers for those in need. *We require permission of those being prayed for, & forward the request to the prayer minister. If preferred, the person’s name can remain anonymous. Our prayers are powerful! If you would like to be part of the Prayer Ministry team, contact Dana in the Parish Office. The Liturgy Committee is beginning to study guidelines from the National Council of Catholic Bishops: Built of Living Stones - Art, Architecture, and Worship. I will often quote from this document as I feel they are beneficial reflections for all of us. Every time the Church gathers for prayer, she is joined to Christ’s priesthood and made one with the saints and angels, transcending time and space. Together the members worship with the whole company of heaven. The sacred liturgy is a window to eternity and a glimpse of what God calls us to be.

Chris A. Jennifer Lacy Al Blackwell Andra Olson Bob Blake Mike Paxton Jim Carlson Maddie Poranski Dan Entinger Bobby Reil Kathy Gnitka Adam Richardt Dolores Kelly Mike Schulz

Stewardship Thought
“Or who has given the Lord anything that he may be repaid?” - Romans 11:35
St. Paul reminds us of a central fact of stewardship. We cannot give the Lord anything, because God already owns it all. God made everything. All that we can do is return a portion of God’s many gifts back to Him. Sincere gratitude for our gifts open our hearts to joyful generosity!
